Differences in Build?
I'm wondering if there are differences between the Build editor in versions 1.3d and 1.5.

If anyone could tell me if there are differences, and what they are if any, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the feeling it works more like the Shadow Warrior Build.

Which means I may have to completely relearn build...

Differences are barely noticeable.
It's certainly not different enough that you'd need to 're-learn' it.
If it was different it would imply you are learning it for the first time anyway...

The only differences in the Build that comes with v1.5 over 1.3d is that some things have been expanded to deal with the extra graphics that are available in the v1.4 / v1.5 version of the game.

Thanx for the info guys, it was a real help.
Now, I've just gotta sit down and think of some ideas...

Hmm... Nukem Manor?? Nope, arleady did that, not done though... Maybe I'll finish it...
Area 51?? .. overused...
Hmm...
I don't know. I'll think of something...

Re: Differences in Build?
Another thing I noticed is that, well with me anyway, in 1.4, 1.5 in 2D mode, the name of the sprite appears next to its hitag and lotag, Which is a really neat tool, but I cant get it to work for 1.3

Copy your 1.5 names.h to 1.3, assuming that none of the tiles have been swopped around then that should produce the disired result.
If not, get the DEFS.CON to names.h converter from RTCM, it was made by Photon Man.

Re: Differences in Build?
I think there were also roughly four undocumented keys in the atomic version of it aswell.

Not that I have used them, but I think they were in the key list from the MapFAQ.

The link was screwed up in the last message, it should be http://mapfaq.3dportal.com

Re: Differences in Build?
Sure, you could use a converter.

Then again, you could just do it manually. It's not that hard. Just add number signs to the beginning of the "define" statements.

Re: Differences in Build?
I have two
Build (the one with v1.3D, it seems to crash less on my dual P100)
and the other is (wait for it)

OpenGL Build Touch v2 http://www.dukeworld.com/oglbt

Well, I use it for all the other stuff mainly, I don't do much with the maps at all.

Re: Differences in Build?
Cyborg. There are only three Build Utils around.

Build (which comes with the games)
OpenGL Build Touch
Build Touch

The main point is that I WROTE TWO OF THEM.
Why the hell would I write something that was originally intended for only me and a dozen other people if I didn't need it? It does everything I want it to, so it suits me perfectly.

And yes Corv did know I would pick the original build and oglbt, that is why he asked it so I would put the link up.

Corv, you should have guessed that Veldrik would choose his own utils...

This is because NamesH is on read-only, turn to Archive by doing this:
Right click on NamesH go down to 'properties'
And the rest is easy

All that to make it work?!?!? Damn thats wrong.
