Secret Agent Woes
Hello:
I have been playing through Secret Agent the last few days, and I came across a glaring problem. One level in particular, has me completely stumped as to how to get the S-P-Y bonus, and for peace-of-mind I'm looking for someone to tell me that I'm not completely nuts and that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get!!! Episode 2 - Area 12 Check the attached .PNG image for full map. First of all, the S. Down in the bottom-right, up on high. There is no way to reach the ledge with all the money bags, the red door and the S without a height advantage (barrel). However, the can in question is stuck behind the P. There is no way that I can fathom to get the S before the P, it appears you are forced to take the P when you go for the barrel. Keep in mind that when the level starts, gravity kicks in and the barrel falls to the level behind the P. I thought maybe it might have something to do with the invisibility glasses, but alas, this only creates the ledges to exit the top-right of the level and does not assist with procuring the elusive S. I try to play my games to the fullest, and love little challenges within the game; I typically play on the difficulty level above normal (for the extra challengel) and up until this level I have been able to get through with 0 deaths, and all SPY bonuses. So, any takers? Can someone prove that I'm an idiot and am missing something totally obvious, or are we destined to never receive the S-P-Y bonus for this level... BTW, you can warp straight there by holding down B-O-N-D during the game and entering level 12. Anyways, enough rambling. Have at 'er! -- Patient Gamer |

More to the above...
Good times continue, 2 errors counted in Episode 3 Level 8 - someone forgot to put the Y in at all! (img depicted, level w/red bg) Level 3 - another level where its impossible to get the SPY bonus. You can't get the red key without touching the P, and the S is behind a red door. Agh, thats frustrating, didn't anybody playtest Episodes 2 and 3? Episode 1 didn't have any bugs like this Oh well... |

Re: Secret Agent Woes
ok I tryed your first problem Episode 2 - Area 12 and can find no solution I think there should have been a hole in the room to the left of the barrel to drop it through that would make it work

Re: Secret Agent Woes
In Level 9 of Episode 3 there is more than 1 Y, so that should balance it out, someway .

When I tried to click on the thumbnails, I was told I needed to refresh the page and login, while at the top of the page I'm clearly still signed in. Otherwise, how could I be writing this reply?
This old game is still one of the toughest around. I usually play with cheat keys.

Unless. . . . Um, what's the collision detection like on that game? Like,if you touch any part of the P, do you automatically grab it, or does it only count as you grab it if you touch the spot on the floor where the blue of the P is touching? If it's the latter, I was wondering if maybe you could push the barrel up to the P so it's covering it, then get to the left of the barrel, then run and jump towards it and try to just tap the top left of the barrel with your feet and push it that way. Hopefully, your feet will knock it forward as you graze the edge of it, and you shouldn't grab the P because you're more or less flying over it. I twould be an insane move to pull off, but, unless you can move the barrel by shooting it, I see no real way to be able to push it without touching the other letter. Unless, of course, that's just there to trick you into thinking you're supposed to push it, when really there's an invisible ledge inside/behind. . .say, the wooden pole to the left of the robot dog at the bottom right. (The silvery walkway with the S and the red door is right next to the pole I'm talking about) that might explain why you can't see any invisible ledges, because they're behind the pole. Either that, or maybe you can shoot the dog, and use it as a ledge to jump from? Would any of those suggestions work? I only ever played the shareware version, so.. . I'm not sure I ever got to play that level.
