Most amazing arcetecture in the game?
Well, now that we have the ultra-detailed Roch and Bobsp-esque maps that get most of the attention, what were the most amazing pieces of work that you saw in the original 4 episodes?

for me it's

*The poster machine in XXX stacy

*The copy machine in Pigsty

Spoiler:

It's been such a long time since I played the original episodes so I don't remember it that good - but I mostly like things that improvise the original textures/sprites. The copy machine in Pigsty is pretty cool, and most of the time I like the vehicles.

Hmm.. I don't really know what i think was really cool.. I think all the original maps are pretty 1337.

--Ah, i know something i thought that was extra cool , that HUGE door at the begin of Occupied Terrortory (typoed ftw)

Just the overall design of the city in e1l1 for me; it's so simple and interesting at the same time.

Nearly all of the maps were very fun to play through but I was never amazed by the architecture. Though some of the space maps come close, I guess (Fusion Station was teh cool)

Watching the building blow up in E1L2.

The subway.

Heck, most of Shrapnel City was really cool.

If only they'd done something more creative than the walled off ocean...still, the ship interior was an amazing piece of build craftsmanship.

I'd say. Even to this day I could not build something like that.

I never really played Derelict. I tried a Dukematch on it with my brother -- way to big.

Yeah, my father and I tried Dukematching on that thing YEARS ago. Never found each other. We got to the stage where we would shout from our rooms in the house to tell each other where we were on the ship

Derelict was awesome. It just had a cool atmosphere.

I'm pretty sure one of the LameDuke levels (Episode 3, Level 2 or something like that) contains sectors that were copied into Derilect. At least, that's what I heard.

Oh yes, that was indeed extremely 1337.

And how they made E3L3, with all that water the city really feels like it's true 3D

I liked all the city levels, the second episode didn't strike me as hard. Perhaps it's cause for first time in FPS games those environments were even remotely close to "real life" (if there is one). Still, the E1L1 is the best.

BTW, the most stunning thing I've seen made with BUILD engine is definitely the White House level of "Duke it out to D.C.". I mean, holy crap, it's realistic yet fun to play!

You're right. LameDuke also had lots of cool underwater levels as well.
