***SPOILER - conclusion*** question on Mona Sax

Hi guys! Just joined the forum and it looks great.

Well, like many Oct. 15th couldn't have came any sooner and by sundown I was already playing Max Payne: Fall of Max Payne. I'll spare you readers from another review from just another fan of Payne, so here is my question: towards the end we see Max exhausted and near death come back for Mona is still alive, as well you have the police arriving on scene where one shouts out for medics as there are still 2 alive, yet in the dream sequences in the beginning where Max awakes from his hospital bed, he finds Mona in the morgue, but that was a dream sequence so the whole credibility is in question.

Is she dead or isn't she ? I've cleared it twice already and still this question haunts me as there are no absolute proof that she is dead like Winterson's body on the examiners table.

Thoughts, theories?

I had the same thought, becuase I also remembered the first dream sequence where she was shown coming out of a morgue drawer. My best guess would be that Max was worried about her to see her die in his dream sequence, but at the end she really did die. As Max said "The bullet in her head" had killed her.

What I don't understand is that she was "dead"

then in one of the strips she's like "Ahhhh"
"I guess I've... (best i can remember) been nothing but a damsel in distress"

or something like that

then he says she was dead and the bullet in her head had killed her..

wtf?

There is more to the story you should play it on a harder mode. HINT

As far a the Dream squeances, they were like real dreams mixed up. Remember that he thought she was DEAD from MP1, then you imeadaitly turn around and she is alive and sitting on the table, going "shhhhhh dont tell them you saw me its a secret".

Remember in MP World, nothing is as is seems and everthing is always MIXED UP

Play the game on Dead on Arrival mode... she's alive till the end....... the most beautiful ending you can ever get from a game.

was that in MP1 or MP2?
i don't remember that, at all

what part did mona play in MP1?

he said that the slow moving bullet in her head finally met the destination, and *then* she died, after giving the damsel line

Play through on DOA difficulty. I must say that the ending that you get there is much more satisfying

Yes Mona was shot in MP1.

Yes he did say that in the first ending but there are 2 endings.

Hida, not sure its good to just blurt out things that give a a BIG impact, actually playing it. If you do it can take away from someone elses BIG impact, would you please EDIT that OUT

Yes, the second ending is much more satisfying and I hope the developers let that story line set the stage for the next game. Max and Mona kicking ass would be awesome.
The "bullet in her head" does not mean that Vlad shot her in the head. It was that bullet he kept referring too throughout the story that drove her to go after the gangsters, arms dealers, etc. Sort of a metaphor for her femme-fatale nature.

Mona was shot in MP1 while protecting Max. You thought her dead because she slumped into an elevator and the doors closed. But, when the doors slid open, the body was gone.
