tc stands for total conversion and means that everying except the program code is redone to make it like a new game

BUT

many so called tc's are in fact only partial conversions that is someting that still looks pretty new but still has some(sometimes lots of) original stuff in it

ALSO

mods like teamduke (which just adds more multiplayer gaame types and maps to go with them) are also sometimes mistaken for tc's

k i just needed to know what a total conversion was.their really duke 3d mods.

Not quite. A TC is more than just a simple mod.

Of course, I call them "Total Crap", because most of them lack a cohesive quality that is necessary in attempting a total conversion, but there's a couple of good ones out there.
