I am so, so sad.
Goodbye to all of my 3DR bretheren. I was so looking forward to playing DNF. I heard a rumor that 3DR is trying to raise 5 million in funding. Is this true? Will that see the completion of DNF to market?

If so, I may be able to help (strings attached). George, you have my email address.

Otherwise, I wish the very best to each and every one of you.

Hi,

I live in Garland. If you'll send me the $5M, I'll make sure George knows about the strings.

Do not trust this guy he is lying, he will keep the money for himself. You can trust me, I am connected to 3Dr and GB and will be able to manage the money you send, ensuring GB gets every cent. Send the money to:

Bank of Lagos
Branch: Principle Precinct, Lagos
Account no: 3226735
BSB no: 324338

As I said previously, you can trust me, I will not spend this money on coke and hookers.

Btw, these guys are lying. I obviously have the official DNF code and near-final version.

In reality, it will only take $2M, which I will gladly trade to you for your investment.

They're all wrong, I have the only real copy of the near finished version of DNF, I'll sell it for 5 cents, but because I live in Australia, the shipping will cost $1,000,000,000,000.

Its a small price to pay for the opportunity.

At least import tariffs would be cheap.

Also, .05AUD or .05USD?

Seriously, unless you can produce mass cash on an instant, 3DR isn't interested and neither are we. You've not proven yourself to be anyone worthy of "the first copy of DNF", so really, why shouldn't we ridicule you?

Both the former and the latter are both well intentioned I insure you. And yes, in fact a number of years back I did mail George and he said he would see what he could do.

He never said anything about getting "the first copy of DNF," that was the first responder below him.

Perhaps, but I really don't see 3DR taking your money, if you can even raise that much at all. Another "investor" = less profit for themselves, and another party they have to diverge information to.

Notice that the name of the person is "nels" and not "GetSome." Are you saying that because he make a statement denying that he asked for the first copy of DNF that he must therefore be nels in disguise? Don't you think he rather didn't comment on it because it's a silly and irrelevant comment, or is your own time spent on such useless things? Logic doesn't follow your post.

I don't think that 3DRealms has another choice in their current situation - as long as the "strings attached" are "acceptable" for them...

IIRC, they just don't have the money to finish DNF. They are not bankrupt and presumably, they stopped development before they ran entirely out of money. I imagine they'll start licensing the Duke name, and then when they have money again, restart development on DNF.

Whether the graphics will matter, etc, is debatable, but beyond the scope of what I'm saying.

So, what you're saying is that it'll take another 12 years of development with more engine changes?

If nothing else, GB's attorney has probably advised him not to comment on anything remotely related to the case (as they say: anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law).

That or whatever you're proposing looks totally outlandish, unrealistic, or flat out ridiculous and he's ignoring your emails.
Since you haven't been open on this forum about what those "strings" are, I'd bet it's the latter.

Those are issues best not talked about in an open forum. But let's say this: I wouldn't do it unless there was a retun on the investment and I wouldn't do it without a bit of development oversight.

The real question is: Does he want to bring DNF to the fans who have yearned so long or not? If it's *just* an issue of funding that can be overcome.

Both reasonable enough conditions, depending of course on how much return you're asking, and how much development oversight.

If both are reasonable amounts, then GB *might* contact you after the court case is over. I wouldn't expect to get much of anything until then as much depends upon the outcome.
