It's been a while since I've looked at the BUILD source, but I'm thinking that maybe you've gone over the maximum wall count when you pasted. I know you can go over the maximums when you paste, so maybe that's it.

No, i am not exceeding any limit, i have 200 more sectors and 1000 more walls, this is why i don't understand what happens...

Bye

I guess I could give you the "BUILD isn't perfect" excuse now.

Sometimes it just does that. Try left control + left shift + enter in 2D mode before you copy and paste. If I'm not mistaken, that's the combo for checking all walls, etc.

I hate to sound like an expert or somthin' cause I amn't. But copying, splitting, joining and moving sectors, although Build does a pretty consistant, reliable job of it, seems to be very particular about the order in which you do it. I made some real awful mistakes in my first levels but I found that there seems to be nothing you can't fix if you experiment (and I don't mean cover up.) Are you moving it out of the player space? Make a BIG sector to contain it and then merge the lines around the edge when you put your new sector "out there". Similar technique if just moving it somewhere else within your map. You have to have the same amount of points around the perimiter of the "space" you move the sector into as the perimeter of the sector(s) itself.

I also found that you can join sectors clear across the level. This has some advantages I am writing mad martin's duke pages about but also causes some restrictions you have to abide by.

I hope this helps.
