Balls of steel running too fast
Today I installed the BOS after a while and it seems to me that the ball runs a bit too fast than it used to be.

My machine is Athlon 2000+ 1,6ghz, 512mb ram, ATI Radeon 9000pro 64mb.

I find this strange since 1,3ver was made in order to play the BOS on W2000/XP. Strange that they didn't "fix" the speed... or maybe it's my illusion, because I haven't played the BOS for some time!?!...
If it's not me - is there a way to slow it down?

But what I don't quite like in v1,3 is that they made the menu full screen. That changes the other XP windows and has a lower refresh rate (however, the table itself is fine!).
Thanks.

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?

Hmm... at first I thought the game slowed down, but now I am not so sure. Uh, it doesn't matter now, I got used to it. Balls of steel is my all-time favourite pinball game. And I'm a big fan of pinballs. Too bad that Pinball Wizards didn't last that long. (

Pinball Wizards still exists. It's just not likely they'll publish another pinball game.

Or anything. I don't see us doing another pinball game.

Oh yes, compatibility mode did help for the "shrinking windows"! It's now perfectly normal. I guess that should be added in BOS installation help/txt - if Joe didn't tell me about it, I would never guessed it.

Just curious - how come that Wildfire advertises its BOS: Creature attack game with only Mutation & Darkside tables built-in? There's no word about the original 5 table BOS game?

Since Worldscores is now off and defunct - what is your best score? But be honest and fair!

Check out the Tower of Pin.

I posted a bunch of my BOS and Devil's Island scores there as AgentScotty, but most of them have been pushed off the top ten...

I'm in every high score list of Balls of Steel there, except for Barbarian in Arcade mode . I should play that game again sometime and I should start playing Devils Island.

Uhh... I almost always play on regular mode.... and I don't remember my old high scores (they are all deleted when I changed the OS to the XP), but I think I was nowhere near or higher than 400 million in any of the pinballs. I'm amazed that some got...uh... 2,795,024,957,160 ......... uh... what are those... billions, trillions?!
