Damn, I want to be a level designer, I'm good with detail but don't have much experience with Unrealed, George, is there a possibility of sending you stuff done with other engines and then you give me a learning month to get all the features from the unrealed down?

Looks amazingly nice. Of course we can't see the detail on Duke with the tiny gif, but this tiny gif kicks the living crap out of the last tiny gif of Duke. I think a lot of peoples complaints about Dukes look from the teaser have been dealt with.

Nice to see our first glimpse of an outdoor daytime scene in DNF as well.

Where can I learn how to map in this engine and what do I need for that? Probably it's much difficult than build, isn't it?

A good start for any Unreal game would be in making levels for UT2K4, or better, newer games like UT3 or Gears of War (pc).

You should do it Men in Black style, bring in some people, tell them you're looking for the best of the best of the best, then neuralyze anyone who doesn't work out... You have one of those things right?

Can you tell if you have similar systems to Matinee and Kismet? Which both are in UT3 editor. Kismet being visual scripting tool, and Matinee keyframing tool.

How far off is the DNF editor from UT3 editor, since you broke of the enginebase around Unreal Engine 2?

All this tells me is the game is still far from finished. Now you've got to look for a decent level designer to join your team, and make some maps from scratch that are worthy of DNF's standard.

It's still a long wait, but i'm sure the game will be awesome. I'd just hoped the game was further along than this, perhaps in beta stages.

They may pass on that to a different developer considering how much different it is to develop for the PS3 compared to the 360/PC.

Basically PS3 is a pain in the ass to develop for, especially when porting from a PC version. So if they do decide to do that I hope they keep a very close eye on it, and not let a crappy version be released

They never said this was for creating levels from scratch. It could be a matter of polishing/finishing already existing levels.

It doesnt tell you how far along ANYTHING is. They may just want more level designers to get things done quicker so they can make whatever internal deadline they have. It doesnt say that half the game is still incomplete or that its near gold. It says NOTHING about the length of the dev time.

If anything, its a great sign that progress is being made, and they just want to plow the road home.

From the first line of George's post, I was thinking that it was crunch time and they are pushing for a release of late this year. I suppose the point is that this could mean anything and it should not be read into too much.

Cool picture of Duke, though. I especially love the jaw area (that is one nice chin!)

Syphilis is right. Even a 360 version might not see the light of day given they're not outsourcing it.
