I am still shocked of what's happened the past 2 1/2 months. It's been from the cancellation of 3d realms to TT Suing 3dr to 3dr becoming a smaller company to rumors of DNF cancellation to the still developing to the New screenshots. Is The Announcement release of DNF Next

For me its been a nice change of pace for these forums. I'd stop in here about once a day for some time, always reading the same Interactivity/Weapons/Easter Eggs/blah blah threads which were pretty much the same things talked about over and over.

Although this isn't EXACTLY the news I was hoping for after all this time, it's certainly more exciting than what was being thrown up and smeared around again and again.

I stopped "waiting" for this game a long time ago but that doesn't mean I won't be standing in front of my local game shop on the day it's released to purchase my copy! Lets go Duke, kick a little T2 ass then push out an incredible game to show the suits and ties they can't push the little guys around!

You really wanted to get that wrong didn't you.

I am saying that no crew is working at DNF and still people are speculating about the progress and the release of DNF. Even when there was a crew they failed to deliver - therefore the law suit.

So all these threads about "still developing", "something is going on" etc. are plain stupid. It should be clear now to even the most naive fanboy that DNF never have been close to be done and now less than ever. And it never will in the hands of 3DRealms.

But instead of facing the reality you can always take a standpoint and argue till the end of your days. Many here have done it for the last 10 years and will problaly continue to do so.

Not so much wanted to get it wrong but more...wanted to understand what you were answering with your response; for you to elaborate a little.

I do believe that George and Scott are trying to be genuine in their progress reports while still not shooting themselves in the foot by throwing out any kind of expectations. Here is an example:

April 13, 2009: Another Broussard Tweet reveals the team is nearing its latest milestone: "Closing out a milestone this week. 71 more tasks to do and we started with probably 800-900. Been a good push. Next one starts Monday."

If I were to believe this statement to be true (which I do), then I'd say they were real close to completion. That is of course, that those last 71 steps weren't some kind of behemoth of a task.

You could be on milestone #3 of 30 and the still say the statement "71 tasks left out of 900". Notice that he said another one starts on Monday.

I agree 99,99 % , can't understand that people misinterpreted this...

Can DNF's graphics stand status quo for 2 years? for PC standards it will become hopelessly outdated, but for the consoles it might do...

Maybe the game can rest in the fridge without sustaining to much damage...

I would personally like to point out that nothing indicates that any of the unfinished meshed footage that was released is up to date at all. It's possible that they're close to completion.

And, damn, I wish you guys started fighting. I wanted to post this image.

I think the people left in this forum are a little too young to understand what is going on. I just popped in to see if the forum was still alived and was amazed that some continued just like before .. discussing the progress of DNF, ugly screenshots etc.
And George has not really said anything interesting or trustworthy about DNF the last 10 years.
I will return to the real life and save my interest until something come out of the lawsuit which will take a long time.

I see myself as being a fanboy, and have followed the game since it was announced, and yet agree with everything you have said in this thread.

I think your right about a lot of people being too young to understand. I think everyone just needs to have a break from DNF bullshit and go enjoy life or other games etc. until something worthy its actually happening to comment about. Stop wasting valuble time, your only young once

everyone will find out if something substantial is actually going to happen sooner or later.

All I will say is this, I am a fan of Duke Nukem since I first ever played it. I do NOT follow it like a religion, but it was awesome just to read up on everything and see what they have done. It was AWESOME to hear the music and hear the dialogue.

I DO check back or occasionally read up on Duke Nukem if I have nothing better to do, but for the most part I just let it be. Whatever happens....happens.

If some people want to stay here and still be excited about Duke Nukem Forever. Good for them. They have a hobby and they are not going out and doing drugs or killing people.

Nothing is written in Stone...and even if it was, sometimes with enough time and pressure...it can become a diamond.
