Driver problems
Hi all,

I just bought the game and got the "directx 8 compatible hardware accelerator" message. My system specs are as follows:

Pentium III ~550MHz
128MB RAM
DirectX 8.0
nVidia GeForce2 MX-200 32MB
Windows 2000

Here's the problem: I read previous posts and figured I needed to update my driver for the video card. Per the instructions on nVidia's site, I uninstalled the old driver and tried to install the newer one (1.2.4.1). After I restarted my machine, I now get the message "This device cannot start (Code 10)". The only way I can get the card to work is if I install the orginal driver off of the CD.

nVidia doesn't seem to offer support (or at least something better than a short fax form at the back of the manual. If someone could help me with this issue, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Re: Driver problems
Try to get an updated driver from your manufacturer's site, not Nvidia's. This might help.

Re: Driver problems
Tried it and it didn't work either. Thanks for the reply though. I think I will just throw out this computer, pick myself up an abacus and some writing tablets, and move on with my life.

LOL
