3D Realms on Steam?
Since Duke Nukem Forever will be published by Take-Two (last I checked), and Take-Two also publishes 2K and Rockstar (which is coming to Steam soon), is there any hope for 3D Realms games to pop up on there?

I'd love to buy a complete pack of 3D Realms games.

I'd also love to start Steam one day and pre-order and pre-load Duke Nukem Forever. It would probably be the biggest game release on there since BioShock.

A man can only hope...

That would be neat...who knows? Probably something they won't announce until near gold so we'll just have to sit back and wait.

I hear ya there Caine...no doubt though that sales would be increased if it's available as a download thru Steam though. I know there has been games that I bought I most likely wouldn't have spent the time to drive to a gamestop or some store. I'd get Duke either way but just my 2 cents

Some people prefer to buy it on Steam.

I used to buy games retail, but that has its advantages and disadvantages.

I ended up buying DOOM 3 and Resurrection of Evil on Steam to avoid the Windows Installer error of my operating system not being supported when using Vista. It's only Resurrection of Evil that has this problem, but still. Installing with old installers from retail sucks compared to a few clicks on Steam and a quick download.

I thought the same way for the longest time - But with HL2, etc. Steam was an evil that had to be put up with, and it grew on me. Now I love it, been d/ling games left and right - and you can back them as well...

I would prefer retail boxes, as my internet connection drops with large downloads...

The decision on this is not made, and since we don't really need more "Steam" threads (as they always end up in problems), I'm locking this.

We've talked about anthology DVD's as well, search the "Other Apogee/3DR Games" forum for more on that (as it's not a relevant topic for the DNF forum anyway).
