The different versions of DNF
I wonder if there, when the game is "done", will be a big booklet or something else, that gives an overview of the different development versions of the game. We all remember the videos which already existed and it would be an extrem cool bonus if 3DRealms would add some playable Demos of the older versions to the game, but I fear this will be difficult because of the rights for the engines that should be used, or?
P.S.: I couldnt find an answer in the other topics, so: works DNF with opengl or directx?

we know how the 1997/1999/2001 versions looks like from screenshots and videos. that's enough for me.
you won't get playable demos, and I think DNF is a directX game.

but they could give some nice facts about the old DNF versions. id software does it right, with a few "lores" in the middle of some of the texts in the manual.
in the RTCW manual: "wolfenstein lore: blablabla history lesson blablabla did you know that blablabla".
in the doom 3 manual: "doom lore: blablabla did you know in Doom we had # amount of code lines while doom 3 has ###### amount of lines?"

let's hope we also get "quake lores" in the quake 4 manual

3DR could do the same for DNF: "duke lore, did you know that the 1997 build of DNF had blablabla"

I think it has been mentioned before, but a "director's commentary" style thing would be a good idea for explaining the history of the game. I believe that one of the HL2 add ons has such a thing.

Do you really need to make an hour long note of "we didn't have enough programmers" to explain the history.

Well, they can copy most from the forums.

But, if DNF uses Directx9 and MS publishes next year the new Windows (Vista?) together with Directx 10, which has no really backward compatibility and Directx 9 games will run much slower. Will DNF be delayed another year(s)? The booklet grows and grows
