Try to use some smooth on normal map (you ARE using normal map or bump map? If only bump, then better use NM, you can get much better effects without making him look like mutilated).

I really like how the hands and arms are done, nice job. UV map on his pants could use some more work (or the noise you added there), cause stretching of pixels is very noticeable.

thanks for the comments.I remove his beard and made a specular map,it's still to strong on some areas.
@Hellbound,i'm using a bump map.I tried making a normal map from a high poly version but i got alot of problems.

What problems exactly you've had?

All kinds of problems,really
Here's an example of how it looks (i use xnormal to make them but i also get bad results with mudbox's normal mapper)

other problems are the flatshaded low poly being visible on the normal map and holes in the uv's.

btw, this is the uvmap without his belts and shells visible,i dont waste that much texture space lol

Re: Duke Nukem 3d model
Yeah, that looks bad. But I've got some solutions:

1) Use Nvidia's "meLODy" software, it has a lot of useful stuff to adjust highpoly to lowpoly normal maps and is very easy to use.

2) Convert your bump map to a normal map with "Crazybump" software. You can't get a smooth and round shapes there, becuse it just converts image to image but it has a useful tool to mix normal maps. You can make a normal map of your low poly model with some levels of subsurface (using meLODy) and then mix that with normal map made of your bump map. Google for both programs.

Re: Duke Nukem 3d model
Thanks for trying to help me,Hellbound.
I tried to import a random high poly head model into Melody but it didn't load it(it was taking like 20 minutes and still wasn't done). That head model "only" had 450 000 quads,ad my unfinished high poly body of duke nukem already had more. Other applications are able to load the models fine.About crazybump,i'll give it a try.

I worked on the textures some more.Note that i used a light in that scene to show the bumpmap better.

Crits/Comments are welcome.

I think i'm almost done, just need to texture the straps and shell-holder things.I put him in a pose, but i'm really not good at that (as you can see)
