Guiding Fires?

Am I missing something silly? What do I do when I get to that big tower thing?

Doesnt matter, fixed it now. Didnt check those platform things where you find the shuttle.

Another question concerning "Guiding Fires":

Right after the part with flying the glider through the pipes outside the Sphere (where you can see Earth and astroids hitting the Sphere) and after Mother asks Tommy where he thinks he's going, there is a segment with wallwalks leading though a couple of forcefields. There is also a platform with a console and a portal device. Is there a way to get there or is it just facade?

i guess it´s just facade but you can try to get there by noclip

Yeah, thought so.

I tried noclip now and, of course, there was nothing to be found. The console is just a dummy switching between "Activate" and "Deactive" when using it, without really doing anything. And the wallwalks, well, walk you into a wall shortly behind the forcefields.

yeah i wonder what those were for, i think this gasbags must have been something like parasites on the sphere, because the aliens and the flying robot thingies wnted to dstroy them.
