Happy Birthday Max, best game character ever.

When i could have my copy signed, i would love to have Joe, drawing a Lock on it, somewhere on the back, or one the manual (or inside it)

That would be fun...
I'm not refering to anything with the lock, but i admit i must think of it often, when thinking of Joe, because he uses to have that "lock" image everytime a thread gets locked... I find that image a little funny, and i come to associate it with Joe at times...

No offense, please don't ban me...

Yeah, happy birthday to some of the most filmishly told story experiences, and the game is really looking neat on my geforce 7800gs, with all detailf rull on 1280x1024. (you just miss the volumetric lighting a bit i think)....

anyway, I've grabbed the demo again and now I want to play the entire game (I have both copies of max payne 1 and 2... but come to think of it I think 1 is the best)

Max Payne kicks ass. I first had the PS2 version , then I got the XBox version, but the PC version is the best. Got it for $7 at EBGames. Runs ok on my pc, but great on my friend's.

Just a question/note for the 50 of us that won, did you d/l the patch for the game yet? When I found out I had won, it's one of the first things I did, so when I install, I'll have it patched up-to-date as a "just-in-case" measure. (assuming it needs it)

they wrote after they have seen max payne screenshots the first time, that it is not possible that a character looks so realistic and that they are propably fake

Yeah, before they head over to the post office, we'll get a picture of the stack.

It's quite odd doing this again, as it's definitely evoked memories of this.

Only five years!!! Happy B-day Max Payne! If not for this game I would not be working in the game industry. I have the fondest memories of mapping/modding for Max Payne. I still crack open MaxEd every now and then just to get nostalgic.

OK, they're out the door. About 5 minutes ago the truck that was loaded up with the 100 free Max Payne copies left for the Post Office. I'm sure the folks at the post office will LOVE that.

The last pic really reminds me of five years ago because of this.

Yeah, I think in all we sent out 106 copies - we had a couple that came in at exactly the same time as "#50" in each of the two contests, so we let 'em slide.

I don't know the actual postage cost, but it's gotta be at least $500, as it costs about $5 to send one of the boxes via US Priority Mail, and it's more for foreign, so it's a few bucks - yeah. But we're happy to do it. Was a nice spur of the moment fun thing to do.

The original idea was George's - so he deserves the original credit for the idea.

This is the first time I won something...seriously. This contest really made me happy. I've never played Max Payne before, so this is the perfect chance to do it (and make some maps in the process). Thanks George and everybody involved in this.
