it's killing me inside not to know for 100% if DNF is dead. If so please delete the DNF page of this website and reset my mind to zero like there never was a game called DNF!

DNF is dead for sure. Nothing can be done there. But Duke isn't dead.

I'm with you, i think there should be a clear official statement regarding DNF's future, but don't wait for an answer:

1) Lawsuit
2) George and Scotty DON'T KNOW its future.
3) George and Scotty are currently doing other things (Joe's post suggest they deal with the lawsuit a lot of time), DNF's future is not on their task list right now....

Look however at one of Joe's latest posts where he says that future in-house developement is not an option in the future (afahk - yeah right

).

So , DON'T expect an answer.Yes it can happen, to never have an official answer (e.g. www.theseisgame.com ).

An official cancellation probably depends on the outcome of the court case. If 3DR gets the rights I'm sure they'll try finding some way to finish it, either themselves or by another developer working for them.

We have waited for so long already, so I guess we can wait for the result of the lawsuit too. And besides, if they get a new team or regroup the old team (provided that someone will fund the developement), then 3DR will be able to develop the game during the court case, because court denied Take-Two's request for a temporary restraining order. http://www.shacknews.com/docs/press/20090518_dnf_3dr_.x

So yes, there's still hope. A little hope. I'm along one of those believers, and I know some will disagree with me, but let people have their own faith. It's not gonna help anything to beat the dead horse, because at this point neither scott or george can say a word about whats going on. Sit back and relax, Duke Nukem Forever may or may not come, but while we don't know that for absolute certain, we should concentrate on playing other games or some other entertainment.

The problem is time. Even if the court case was dropped today and tomorrow the DNF team miraclously returned to 3DR we wouldn't be seeing the game till late 2010. Obviously that's not going to happen. They have no money, they have no team and they have an impending court case. Even if all goes well for 3DR in court they still have the problems of trying to find funding and get some sort of development team back. All of this takes time. Realistically speaking they'd be looking at a 2012 release date. And I don't care how good DNF is now, it will have dated by then. So although DNF isn't necessarily dead, if it ever comes out it will be too late to have any kind of significant impact in the gaming industry.
