Windows Vista x64 bit support
Is it possible to play Prey in Windows Vista X64 bit version or is this game only available in x32 bit Vista? I can`t install Prey on my Windows Vista x64 bit computer at all. Is there any fix for this problem or any patch so it will work on a 64 bit Vista?
And of course, are Duke Nukem Forever going to support 64 bit Vista, when it’s done and realest, whenever that`s going to happened. Over 10 years of long wait should be enough!

This years best game: Crysis is almost done and realest!!

(Sorry for my bad English)

I wouldn't look for any future patches to Prey at this point.

Hello... Has there by chance been any change in the status of running Prey on Vista 64-bit? Its the only game I have that will not run on Vista 64-bit, actually, Prey will not even install.

Thanks

I have Vista x64 and the game runs fine, i've actually been playing it quite recently (i think my 5th playthrough). I'm running through Steam (which you can register your CD-Key with to play on Steam) but i've also tried installing it with my retail copy and it works fine. update your DirectX drivers as well as your Video Card Drivers (for Nvidia use: http://www.omegadrivers.net/nvidia_vista64.php, they work awesome and Prey wont run with official Nvidia drivers, youll get an error). i know installing has nothing to do with graphic drivers but itll help once you get the game running.

if you dont want to use Steam try the SP1 beta for Vista, thats what im using and the retail installed on.

Yeah.... I had not tried to install it since Oct. 07..... I tried again, and it seams to run fine. I guess on of Microsoft compatiblity updates resolved the weird install error I was getting... if I remember right, something about not loading a DLL...

Anyway, in does work now.

No, there hasn't. We issued the final patch a couple of weeks ago. This was not part of it, and I was told by Human Head that unless some catastrophic unforeseen bug crops up, this was the final update to the game.

Re: Windows Vista x64 bit support
I can't call it a "fix" but I've found that I can use Steam to install the game for me. It plays perfectly fine under Vista 64 for me. Perhaps the bug is only in the setup.exe program on the CD/DVD-Rom, I don't think that it's in Prey's game files at all.

AFAIK, 64-bit Vista does have some rather decent backwards compatibility built right into it for 32-bit apps and games. I wouldn't worry too much about it not being supported...

I wonder if it's possible to copy the contents of the Setup\Data directory on the DVD to a new directory of the hard disk and play, just like it was possible with Doom 3...
