I have both hint books up for sale i will ship anywhere including APO/FPO/DPO addresses. i just don't have the space to keep the books around and i know people are looking for them.

I think about the hint guides today and about their fancy full color pages. Big, beautiful "Strategy Guides".

But there is usually no maps. Your guides have the maps.

Maybe it's because the "maps" in alot of games today aren't really much to look at, and navigating the environment is no longer a challenge. Modern games have no "maze" factor....you kill a critter, wait to heal, kill another critter, repeat to the end of the game.

The ID hint books were more commentary on the level design and an chance for Tom hall to explain the design process newer strategy guides focus on beating the game since the levels are too complex to map

Vintage book hard to find contains all of the maps for Wolfenstein 3d this is the apogee version nnd is very well perserved for it's age binding is very good.

So the maps aren't actually in there? Were you just indicating references for each level? I remember some games had map collections in the guides - oh so long ago...

they both have the actual top down maps and have numbered hints about areas of the map. some levels have an paragraph from the id team member who made the level. the book also has concept art for the title screen and bosses. they are both really good books to own if your an fan of the wolf 3d series.
