Uh, I think that's just how he writes, dude.
Now apologize before Joe comes along and goes on a deleting-spree.

I seem to have missed this thread. Biohazard always had a 'wtf?' effect on me and I can't wait to fire it up again ( and not the demo this time )

Re: Bio Menace released as freeware!
I have tried repeatedly to download Biomenace-freeware, but whenever I unzip it, I get the error message "one ore more files have been tampered with".
After I tried the game anyway, it always got stuck!
Can anybody help me on that?

Re: Bio Menace released as freeware!
Its really cool that Bio Menace is now freeware. I've only beaten the first episode.. never have even tried the second or third until this chance.

I have a small problem though that I can not find the answer to. When I start a new game and after I destroy a monster, the game crashes and I get a windows message saying the game performed an illegal error and in the details it says:
Quote:

The program tried to execute an invalid instruction:

Fault location: 006B:2AAF
Interrupts in service: None
I tried inputting the stacks=259,6 into my system config, aswell as DOS=High, and STACKS=9,128.

I have Windows ME, so does this game just not like Windows ME?

Is there a way to boot into DOS without booting into ME perhaps? (I've never found out howto)

If someone could help me, then I'd extremely appreciate it. I figured I'd ask here.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

Re: Bio Menace released as freeware!
Dos-Box is not the solution here in my case. The problem that I experience is already manifested in the downloaded Zipfile! The error message is: One or more files have been tampered with!
It is my impression that this is true! So what now?

Yep. Dosbox is the way to go for retro games.
Especially Bio Menace, Commander Keen, Mystic Towers, Monster Bash, old Duke Nukem games ect...

Also, Bio Menace was awesome. I played it when I was little.

Re: Bio Menace released as freeware!
Dear Moron,
first many thanks to you for your willingness to help me!
I am using Windows 98 and Internet Explorer only. I have a sound card compatible with Sound-Blaster. After downloading Bio-Menace I use Pk-unzip under DOS to unzip. When unzip is finished, still under DOS, at the end of unzip I get the error message "Warning! One or more files have been tampered with!". When I then try the game anyway a picture shows up but it gets stuck immediately! And that in all three episodes!
Dear Moron, do you - or anybody else - have an explanation for this?
Especially my kids would be very greatful for help! Thank you!

I just checked this at the command prompt in Windows XP with Dos PkunZip and I did not get any warning. Have you tried to redownload the file? If I need to I can test it on the Dos machine.

If he downloaded the file from us, the only possible reason is a bad download.

If downloaded from anywhere else (we don't know that), it could be as it claims - corrupt files.

Re: Bio Menace released as freeware!
I got the full version when Apogee was still selling it. I installed and played successfully in DOS, Win95 and Win98 and even WinXP, providing (with 95/98) that EMM386 was not installed. If it was, the game would crash whenever I shot a monster. This might be a contributory factor here (just a guess)

Well, you can get the freeware release, it's the same thing we used to ship out on floppy discs when we were still selling it. Try that.

Re: Bio Menace released as freeware!
Kain(the big boss guy, if I spelled his name wrong) will shoot me with lightning bolts at the start of his level and not when I see him after I've already talked to him, ended the game, and loaded the save at the last level. If I reboot bmenace3, he doesn't, but it gets kind of annoying because it took a while for me to beat him(but I ended up killing him). So, if you fix the bugs in your discontinued products(maybe you guys get bored of working on DNF?), there's one.

There's no cheat codes beyond the C-A-T code, right? Because I really suck at this game.

Also, If you use the C-A-T cheat when you have the plasma bolt, you get Rapid-Fire plasma bolts with 99 shots!
