New DNF screenshot in Game Informer - Page 20

Well it gives us something to look at and pick to pieces for the next hundred years. Or the release of the game, whichever comes first.

Actually, after seeing the screenies I'm keen to see it in motion. Even if they release a 10 second gif at 200x150, maybe of Duke looking around and loading a shotgun or something, it would be interesting. As still images they just look like toys after all - the way they move can make all the difference.

The big wait for a game is such a good feeling.
I compare it to dating girls.
It's like you want to have a look behind the curtain and see what's there.
You know there is something nice behind it but you can't touch it.

So what if a new thumbnail will be shown, what would you like to see? I want to see the HUD this time, as George already confirmed they keep it minimalistic. But nethertheless i want to see Duke hands holding a weapon, prefered the deagle.

Theres a tentacle thing that looks exactly like the DNF shot in the magazine...WTF? And not to mention that they paid homage to Duke3d and it has a lot of similarities as to what DNF could be like.

Reminded me a lot of that scene in the 2001 trailer where you see an EDF soldier in the rain.

The similarity between the Blacksite worm and the DNF worm is indeed strong. Wonder if the devs saw the DNF pic and then modeled this enemy. But that would be bizzare.

seems like Blacksite tryies the same like R6 Vegas. All people complained that R6 could steel DNF Vegas theme. But did it happened? NO! So i bet Blacksite also won't steel DNF atmosphere. DNF is too unique to be copyied.

No, i don't think they copied it, since they released pictures of that monster 3 days after the DNF shot, which means they already had it modelled.

It's funny tho...what if the DNF shot made the guys at midway release screens and a video earlier than they expected? to avoid people from saying "hey you copied that monster from the DNF shot" ?

I cant believe 3D Realms hasnt released any good media yet it is ridiculous!!!
Its sad that they have resorted us to looking at tiny thumbnails.

I believe after ten years they can at least show us some respect for being loyal and show us some REAL media!!!

Not that i have anything against 3D Realms i just REALLY do not agree with their way of distributing their media at the moment. Its like a new version of shareware except you dont get a new episode you get a tiny, low res thumbnail

Seriously, I wish they'd release a video but perhaps they haven't got to the stage where there is anything they can show and the danger always is that it will be disected to the nth degree.

It's a horrible situation as just when you think Duke might be getting ready to make showing a brand new next generation game engine comes along with all the bells and whistles 3DR have hinted at and lots more. Makes you wonder if 3DR now licensed the new Crytek engine, they could probably knock Duke out in a couple of years and it would be mind blowing.
