Indeed. I watched that whole thing expecting maybe that it would go from logo humpage to something more resembling a reveal. Explosive? Not quite.

Though I dont and wont let that reflect on my opinion of the game(s) themselves. This was obviously done quickly for E3.

No gameplay at all. By far one of the more horrible trailers seen at E3. No offense.

Best trailer was Spore, with its witty narrator dialogue, great gameplay concepts, and more. Its was just beautiful...

Next time, include gameplay. This is 3d Realms....not Sony.

As a trailer, that is a very poor effort. My only thought is that it might have just been something to be shown in the background to add a little atmosphere to the Apogee booth.

In any case, at least *something* is happening.

Wow, the joke was clearly way over your heads so I guess I'll explain...
Its absurd and rediculus: pounding metal, crotch shots, overly dramatic logos, random imagery.. its completely goofy yet still hardcore, like DUKE is sopposed to be.

I found it to be hillarious but then again I have a sense of humor and basic understanding of tongue&cheek.

Only that was definatly not the intention. Your insane chemical disembalance made you believe thats what it was. It isnt. As someone who edits, writes and generally does media stuff every single day and has for the last six years... I see no indication in the editing at all that that was the intent.

Its just a poor and sloppy execuse for an "explosive" unveiling. If they dont have any media, something shorter and to the point (possibly even more generally directed to Apogee) would have worked just fine.

I can't begin to tell you how overcome I was with excitement when I heard the news.

A few months ago, I was thinking of asking whether or not the Apogee brand would be making a comeback for handhelds, but I didn't want to get ahead of myself. I'm SO glad that it's finally happening.

Seriously, if I didn't already have a DS, I'd've grabbed one right this second.

While it would be nice to see something new from Apogee, what I'm most looking forward to are sequels or remakes of all the games that we grew up with.

I understand that many Apogee games were not in fact developed by Apogee, but I'm still very much looking forward to anything that you guys'll come up with.

How people cannot see the pure irony in this trailer is beyond me. You do know that they're taking the piss out of the whiners who go on about Duke not being at e3.

There's no way they'd actually make a serious duke trailer with 4 minutes of repetitive logos and music. It's just like that guy says up there, it's tongue in cheek, sarcastic and taking the piss out of the games industry.

People who take this seriously need a sense of humour. It had me in stitches.

I'll agree that the clip doesn't really take itself seriously, but that doesn't excuse it from being a really big disappointment for the fans waiting to see something promising from a 'new' studio.

That said, I'm still not convinced we haven't seen it out of context (see my post near the top of the page).

Either it was a joke, or the crappiest trailer ever. I hope it doesn't say anything about the quality of the game(s) or the "new" Apogee. But since Machineworks have mostly done cell phone games, I'm starting to fear it might be.
