Sound in Vista
Hey, just wondering if there is any patch for vista to clear up the sound and make it well...not so crackly.

Yeah, the way it was 'done' was to dump vista.
I had a look into this some time back of which I installed Vista Business on another machine and I had no sound problems at all with sw so I could not fix anything. I think its a 'Vista Premium' issue as they have removed the 'Hardware Acceleration' option in the sound setup.

I have the same problem on Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.
And i will not install XP just to play SW again... I just hope there will come a fix. I have "Realtek High Definition Audio".

Both SWP and EDuke32 use the jaudiolib but the jaudiolib of SWP needs updating (or replacing).
@ ProAsm You can look at the EDuke32 source code to see how this problem was solved for Vista. Look for the "is_vista" variable. It's actually a hack, but it works. |

The last jf files I got was august 2007 and I dont see a "vista" anywhere.
