Problem with texture allignment
OK, used build all the time back in my 486 days and have done a few single player maps.
Just recently have started editing again now on my PIII 1Ghz system

My problem is this: When I use the keypad keys to shift and stretch textures for allignment it happens too fast. I only have to touch a key and the texture can fully stretch or unstretch.
I've tried to reduce the key repeat speed for Windows and under my Bios setup but has no affect on this.
is anyone else having these problems and is there a solution? Any help at all please

Re: Problem with texture allignment
I am not an expert; if you got Windows go to Start; Settings; Control Panel and than open "Keyboard" and change the settings there. Well this is how I modified the repeat speed of my keyboard.
BIOS and DOS modification no longer work in Windows, since even original DOS programs actually operate in the shell of Windows and not in a DOS enviroment.

BTW, there is a map maker opening at Sunrise, if you think you got what it takes, click on the link.

Try Build in the highest screen resolution (bsetup.exe). It may slow down some operations.

Re: Problem with texture allignment
Phoenix, i've tried this. it affects how fast you can browse through the textures for example, but not the alignment using the numeric keypad.

Jim, if i try to run build in one of the vesa modes i just get a blank screen?

JS - his video card probably doesn't support VESA graphics modes. Most modern expansion cards couldn't care less about DOS.

Re: Problem with texture allignment
Js;
This was using Bsetup. The Actual Game itself runs fine in vesa mode @ 800x600.

To give more details - i use bsetup to set the res to 800x600 for example, then run build. i get the first copywright screen and press enter. screen goes blank. However if I hit esc then 'q' then 'y' build program closes and returns me to desktop. so the program itself is still running.

my system is as follows. abit sa6r mainboard, PIII 1Ghz cpu, herculese geforce 2 mx. Sblive 1024 player sound. 256mb ram. but if my memory serves me correctly I don't think I could ever get build to run in vesa screen modes, even going back to my 486 dx80?

the rest of build is running fine.
Oh well, just using build really to pass the time until Red faction, only 2 weeks to go

Superior version of Build. You can change the video mode in the programme.

Cheers Cyborg - now able to run Mapster at 1024x768. Texture alignment is now back to normal.

btw, where can a docs/help for the new features of mapster?

Read the site and press F1 in 3D mode - that's about all you'll get I'm afraid.
