Ironside: I used another pattern for his jeans now.

Does anyone knows how the straps look on his back? I'm sort of stuck on the part.

Well, skintones could fade to black under the right conditions. Though I'm not like Issac Newton the damn jerk who invented calculus!

There, we can use this in a Duke SideScroller with all the graphics being realistic/cell shaded like the new Persia game.

The cigar is 100 points of kick ass.

Show us the new texture on the jeans

edit:

I think your Duke would benefit from a bigger chin. Duke should have a big ass chin.

Re: My new Duke Nukem model ;o
thanks for the crits and comments.
About the skintones, there is no black on my diffuse texture.
I think it's because of maya's way of showing normal mapped models.
Also, there isn't a black oultine,it looks that way cause i made the background darker in photoshop

There are still many things to do and fix on this model such as:
-make the hands look better and texture the logo on his gloves.
-add more details to his jeans like seams and pockets.
-make a high poly model for his straps and normal map it.
-work on the specular map.

OMG LOOKS SUPER AWESno it dosen't your arms are too short and and your muscles are way off (especially the chest)
May I suggest practicing modeling just naked males from anatomy books before diving into The Duke? You can thank me later

In the industry, we call it a polished piece of shit.

Not saying this model is horrible, Im just saying what Leilei said. If you dont get he basics down, don't continue the product in detail. Its like drawing something horrendous, and putting a lot of effort in the detail like shadowing, hair, etc. It doesn't make it good.

Learn the basics first.

EDIT: Honestly, I think the arms look correct. The palm should be the length down to the pelvis. If you use your mind and bend the arms, it looks correct. It might be an illusion because he has huge muscles, making it look stubby or short.

For me though, I don't likee the waste. It looks to straight.

Woah, lot's of things going on i see.
I based the chest of this model on the porcelein statue.
I looked at some anatomy references and changed the chest in Mudbox ,i'm going to work more on the arms too.

Goes to show that you sir, know nothing.

I think working as QA at Blizzard classifies me as working in the industry and gives me the right to understand what people say.

So... being a game tester makes you 'in the industry'? if that were true, I'm in the industry too!

in all honesty, I wouldn't exactly say that you should be calling someone out, especially with such a rude attitude (besides, I think Leilei is a bit more qualified to say something about game art design for some rather obvious reasons.)

anyway, the model definitely looks better with that spruce up. I think the short arms deal was an issue of visual ****up and the glove texture being a tad too long. it's not as though the guy doesn't know what he's doing, I'd think, but more that he's been using so many references that it's gotten a little befuddled and hard to read the body structure in areas. I'd say it looked fine, but the change out he did actually looks better now, and far less bulkman mc largemuscles.

There is a difference between QA and Beta Testing. QA is an industry position.

Vigilant EC is also an accepted Video Game Company in the industry. So I wouldn't say I don't have a foot in the industry besides QA.

Something about the way the arms line up with the body doesn't seem right. It's as if his shoulders are too low, which leaves him with practically no armpits. That's the only thing I could `pick' about it, otherwise it's going in the right direction.

Well, it can be for fun, but I remember that this isn't for HRP... It's just too detailed to be in HRP, so it's either for fun or some UT serie.
