Question The DNF bug/error reporting thread
Hey everybody, I am new here.
I just picked up my copy of DNF the other day, and so far it's a pretty cool guy.
The graphics are AMAZING, and the game ran very smooth and fun up until the game crashed unexpectedly in the warehouse level whenever it starts collapsing around you and the hoards of pig cops bust in.

I tried lowering the rendering quality, but I keep getting the same issue every time I load the game back up.

Has anyone else had this problem? And how do I fix it?

The reason the game crashes there is because you're trying to use a no-cd patch.

Maybe if you would actually buy the damn game when it comes out instead of trying to pirate it early, it wouldn't crash.

Not the problem... I am having the same issue and I got the Floppy Disk version. (For Widows of course, and I am not trying to use a no-floppy patch)

All 2,088 of them??

I got mine off e-Bay. As you can see, the floppies I bought are poorly cropped, and one of the installation disks are missing.

Needless to say, I left the seller a neutral feedback.

I found another Scepter, but it doesn't make things blow up, i think it's broken, it needs fixing, so if anyone wanna trade in a coop match, that would be great...
I reached the the alien Plains beyond the desert so far, been playing for 67 hours, need to level up more to reach the Pig Sheriff though... I think i found a glitch behind the explicit looking cactus...

Press F4 and tehn hold shift while you run in circles for 3 minutes, and it returns to regular size...
It's a commonly occuring bug, i think patch v. 1.444445 fixes that though...

I had a problem with Duke always losing his guns. I'd run over and pick up the RPG or even the dang pistol and he'd drop it and and error would pop up saying I need to reinstall using a correct cdkey...wtf I swear I got this from a good torrent site!!

Been thinking about this for a long time. A walkthrough for a game really helps when your stuck, like on this website you got one for Duke3d and Max Payne 1&2.

So eh how do I get to the part 2 from part 1.

I got this problem with the game. I went to a site where you can download games for money and I bought DNF with my credit card on the site named "WEAREPRETENDINGTOBE3DREALMS.CON". Now that was a week ago and now my bank account is zero and I'm living in a card board box transmitting my posts to the interwebs with my toes.

What went wrong?

You're suppose to uncheck the size 1 font box that says "I fully submit all my card holdings to the website" when you enter in your card number.

When I click on the Duke Nukem Forever icon on the desktop, the following happens:

It loads for fourteen minutes then stops, a frame comes up displaying
"The wait operation timed out".

How do I fix this?

You need to wait until it's done. You can check the twitter site for the developer while you wait.

A bug like that confirms that 3DRealms/Take2 were really desperate to release our beloved game on the golden day 1 april. I sure hope they'll patch it before the end of next week. In the meantime, you do know the small hatch in the upper-right corner of the corridor before entering the main hall of the warehouse? It's basically a secret inside a secret, as you can find 2 of the 8 secret rooms there as well as 'skipping' the annoying Pig Cop fight that currently crashes any copy of DNF at this time. Still, this hatch passage doesn't lead to the secret level entrance, has anybody been able to find that yet?

It's been confirmed that the game also crashes at that point on the Xbox 360 version btw..

After all, this game has only been out for 5 days, can't really blame the devs as long as they fix it. I'm glad enough that we're finally able to get addicted to this game after more than 12 years!.

Ok, everyone who can top this?

I remember the theory of the turing machine (TM).
Right, I already got the iso's with all asset and translate every single PEACE OF CAKE of it into machine code for my implementation of the TM. I was build up one long ago to ensure I'll have the most compatible hardware for DNF then it's released. It made of aprox. about 10 huge trucks sort of road train of very durable labelpaper on rolls and the great pencil of war, which is able to sharp itself if it's completed with diamont and shappire :-). Additionally I'm the owner and master of agrywipeout THE GOD of erasers.

After i've DONE this, I've got BALLS OF STEEL and
so i begin writing down all the ones and nones with my Canon printer 2000 for "initial load" of the game. Thanks to the trucks with removable ink, ryche! my one is half empty now! And now I'am gonna to load the menu, now ..III000III0000III0002 bug!.............see you next october or so.

DID everybody did a TurboTape64 for the TM? :-)

Hope is all we have, but hope is still here.

You're under a quite common misconception that Mac users have; you never actually purchased the game. when you asked for it at your retailer they knocked you unconscious. You were bugged you so now every time you try to play the game you're injected with a sizable amount of morphine.

No worries! The red key can be obtained by the EDF soldier near the NUKEM station. Simply talk to him and he'll hand it right to you.

Yes, you can by blowing up the EDF soldier. It will do no good to your Ego Meter somehow, but the soldier will drop his gun and the red keycard. No aliens will spawn (because EDF soldiers aren't strippers, of course). I'm not sure if it's a bug whether he simply hands over the card or not, I suppose there has to be an alternate way.

Certain porn sites in DNF cause the blue screen.
The game is so in depth, that every individual computer therein has an operating system installed with a working network connection, so if Duke downloads too much porn on the Missle Facility computer, you get a virus, causing the blue screen, and eventual launch sequence of every missle in the facility, so GTFOASAP!
