re: using Ted5 on Bio Menace
I downloaded Ted5 editor from this web site to make a few small changes to level 3 ant town game level map in Bio Menace 2. Every time I save the level and start the game. The game stops before the main menu out to the DosBox c: prompt with the error message "RF_NewMap: Map to tall!" Why is this happening?

Did you run the compression thingy from the menu? IIRC Bio Menace requires all its maps to be compressed in order to work.

Re: using Ted5 on Bio Menace
The instructions I read said Bio Menace files were not compressed. By the way there is no compression cmd in TED5.

The text below I pasted in from the instructions for TED5. Complete file link at http://www.shikadi.net/moddingwiki/TED5

"If the game is 'compressed', it will not have most of these files. Commander Keen 4-6 is one such game. In contrast 'uncompressed' games such as Bio Menace will have the full complement of files. Sadly, most games are compressed, as this is most efficient."

I think we are talking about different things when mentioning compressed. What I mean is that you need to compress the GAMEMAPS.BMx file before being able to run it, I'm not talking about all those external (or not) files. Though I honestly can't remember too clearly how it worked since I haven't used TED on a long time. I could have sworn there was a menu option to run the Carmack compression routine on the currently open map.

I've only used Ted5 to create these Bio Menace maps. I can't remember if I ever edited a Bio Menace map with it.

But there are a few mods for Bio Menace, so it should be possible to edit the levels.
