Max 2: Some questions about MP2

Hi All ,
I have some question about Max Payne 2 that I think for their answers but I don't have any answer.

1. At the end of the game will Mona die ?
Because I heard from my friend that end of the game really it's start the game! after that night ( Kill Vlad and ... ) Max Payne go to the hospital and the game start. But I don't think its true.

2. Why pages that show at end of the game ( After kill Vlad ) showed again at the start of the game ( First level ) ?

3. Why Max in the hospital at first ?

4. Who is old man that at the last level Vlad kill him ( After shoot Mona ) ?

5. Who is kill Max's family ?
I know that Mona work for Vlad and when Vlad see his project is sending to D.A for threat polices kill Max's family. It's true ?

6. Max has a wife and little baby so why love Mona ?

7. Didn't Mona any answer to Max ( for Love ) ?
Because at the end of the game Mona try to kill Max.

I'll try my best.

1. Mona Survives when you beat the hardest mode. I believe it's called Dead on Arrival. Here is the screencap.



2. No idea. Can't remember off the top of my head.

3. I don't think there is any paticular reason it started at the hospital. It was just used as a device so they could do the Earlier That Night thing.

4. No Idea. Can't remember off the top of my head.

5. In the first game I thought it was Nicole Horne who hired some people to kill Max Family because his wife saw to much paperwork or something.

6. His wife and baby were killed. So since his wife is dead he is not married anymore. Remember Max Payne 2 takes place after the first game so it's not like he is just in a hurry to find someone. He started to grow feelings for Mona that he felt he would never experience again after his wife died.

7. Mona was hired to Kill Max. She couldnt do it. That's why she said "You're a bastard, Max"

Mona: I told you not to come here. It's my job to clear up this mess and
you're a part of it. Throw away your guns.

[Max drops his gun]

[Mona points her gun at Max]

Max Payne: This is love.

[A security camera is watching Max and Mona]

Your speech and the Picture don't have same meaning !
You said Mona was hired to Kill Max. She couldnt do it. That's why she said "You're a bastard, Max" but image show Mona love Max too ..

This is where the language barrier i believe is an issue.

She said "Your a bastard, Max" because Mona fell for Max as well. She was hired to kill Max but could not because she started to have feelings for Max which is not a good thing in her profession to. She said "You are a bastard, Max" because by falling for Max she couldnt do her job which was to Kill Max. Which in turn lead her to being shot by Vlad. The only thing that changes in the two endings are one mona dies and one mona lives. There feelings for each other are the same in both endings. It's just in one of them Mona Dies and in one of them Mona lives.

Any other questions you have i'll do my best to answer them.

1. Mona lives on Dead On Arrival mode but anything else she dies.

2. Don't get it.

3. Max got shot by Winterson because he shot Winterson for threatening to take Mona in jail.

4. Alfred Woden. He tells you who killed Max's wife and baby. He also clears you of your charges when you kill Nicole Horne (the wife and baby killer).

5. Nicole Horne possibly had killed Max's family herself.

6. I think Mona flicked a switch on in Max because they couldn't kill each other. She also saved his life a couple of times.

7. Mona didn't try to kill Max. She was too in love with him. they have sex in Part II, Chapter I so I don't see how they aren't in love.

Is this repeated again ? One time at the first of the game and second in middle of the game ( I think Part I, Chapter 6 )

Also did you check the answering machine in Woodens Bedroom before the final fight with Vlad?

Mona leaves a message on the machine..Here it is.

Mona's voice: Alfred, I told you this was a bad idea. I can understand your
remorse, but this isn't helping Max, it's only making it worse.
I'm not sure I can do this. I told you we had a history. I'm,
I... Hell, I'm mad about this guy. I'm just not sure I can go
through with this.


So this might also help answering your question about Mona/Max.

Also if you don't get how being "Mad" in this case is a good thing then i will explain that to you. Ever heard the saying "Those two are Madly in love". Instead of saying "I'm crazy in love with Max" she say's "I'm Mad About This Guy". Same thing.
