Quote:
The definitive version of the cult classic shooter, Shadow Warrior Classic Redux features remastered visuals and two massive expansion packs. Corporations rule every facet of life in a near-future Japan and employ Shadow Warriors, one-man armies of unparalleled skill, to protect their power and forcefully remove all opposition.

The Zilla Corporation is the most powerful of these conglomerates and will stop at nothing to achieve domination unseen by any other corporation in the world. Lo Wang, Zilla Corporation’s legendary Shadow Warrior, discovers this corruption and the dark powers being summoned to aid his employers in this quest for absolute power. As a man of honor, Lo Wang vows to battle these demonic forces with an arsenal of explosive weapons, his silent blade, and a razor sharp wit.

· Includes Shadow Warrior Classic Redux (OpenGL), two expansion packs - Wanton Destruction and Twin Dragon (OpenGL), and the original Shadow Warrior (DOSBox).

· Remastered visuals, a remixed main theme, and compatibility with modern gaming PCs.

· Challenging Steam achievements for only the most skilled warriors.

Re: Shadow Warrior Classic Redux
It's more for people who are unaware of the release given it's not referenced on the new website at all which is a shame as it's the best port available for Shadow Warrior.

Redux:
- Can't assign 1 key 2 uses.
- No mouse y axis sensitivity settings.
- No multiplayer.
- Overly complicated folder layout(steams fault)
- Strayed from the original design in regards to key layout and button shortcuts.
- Assorted bugs.
- Unattractive font used for health/ammo

-Widescreen weapon fix is a plus.

Conclusion: Still needs work.

Re: Shadow Warrior Classic Redux
and the expansions and the new graphics in the menus..I have no issues with Shadow Warrior Classic Redux as it plays perfectly for me. Only thing I have noticed is that the widescreen version of the sword looks poorly photoshoped which is the same as the Megaton widescreen sprites that all look horrible like the big black space on the RPG, the crippled looking hand on the freezeray and the bad looking shrinkray that looks like someone was half done with it and gave up which is weird because they all look fine in EDuke32.

You're everywhere aren't you Lunick ...
I looked last night, on a different computer now but I think I saw a
*******.dmg ? file that was like 133mb no Idea what it is.

If it's the music than I suppose it's understandable but still, I'm used to Sw being like 50mb, not 250mb or whatever it is.

In a time that most new releases are 30gb - 50gb a 250mb game should not annoy you unless you are on 14.4 modem.

Or a 4g cell phone tether, where every mb is precious. Efficiency with everything is key.

.dmg is an ISO image format so most likely that's an image containing the CD music that you'd normally get when putting the game disc into your PC. Nowadays that's a common way of including CD music with older games.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't know how builds on other OS's work sorry. Still, is the cd file for Redux or the classic DOSBox version?

Ah ok, I'll take the bloated part out of the list for the game.
The word "bloated" could apply for the silly process of uploading maps to the workshop however which end up to be like 5mb when a large map is roughly 400kb. I know it's the .png file and .json file but still

I'm still having an issue creating a .json file but that's my prob.

I always make sure that I try to to compress the image as much as possible when uploading the image to the workshop so it doesn't 'bloat' the download size

Likely a good idea.
Can you give me a quick step by step how to save a file as a .json file?
You don't need to include what goes in the file.. just how to save it properly.

Probably the DOSBox version. I'm guessing the Redux version uses different music.

Yep, the 133mb file was for the dosbox version.

The .ogg files for redux are 55mb.

The whole game seems to be in the "downloading" folder but then again in the "common" folder. Like it's there 3 times. Seems strange.

Wow, didn't know it was selling at $20 already. I rather enjoyed htat version of the game. More authentic than I was anticipating. Obviously not in the lead character, but the rest of the game had a similar feel to me.
