Cd Key Location

Hello,

On my Holidays a few days ago I bought the PC version of Prey in a store. When I got back home I tried to install it.

Here's the problem. The installer asks for a Cd Key, but I can't find the Cd Key anywhere on the Prey case. There is no booklet in the case.

My question is, is it normal that there is no booklet? And if not, where is the Cd Key located?


I googled a lot, but I couldn't find an answer. Also I want to make clear that I have an original version! Original case, original Cd, just no booklet. I don't want a Cd key Generator, I only want to know where the Cd Key is located!

I could post pictures of the case, cd and the original receipt in case you guys don't believe I have the original version.

The key was on the wrapper, which you hopefully haven't thrown away. We had this already.

If you mean the plastic protection thingy which sealed (sp?) the case, I have to call the store. My version was not sealed.


I don't know how it normally is, but in the Netherlands, where I bought the game (a Free Record Store), you take the empty original case from the shelve, and once paid, you get the CD. Games are never sealed because the case is empty.


There is a small sticker on the case tho, I'll check the codes on there to see if they are the cd key.

Btw, after reading the thread you posted I realised I have the low budget version.

I tried every code on the sticker, I switched 0's (zero's) for o's, I tried every single code on the receipt, but it doesn't work... None of the codes are long enough. I always end up with 5 or so empty spots...

It was second hand, right? I guess the key was either, yes, on the seal, or printed on the booklet. Seems you're out of luck then.

Only thing left for me is to call the store and demand a total refund.

I assume you have the same version as in Germany then. If it's still the standard version I bought back then then the code should be on the backside of the instruction booklet which came with the DVD case. It's pretty big on top in the midle.

Ok, to make everything clear...



I have the low-budget version of Prey. This version looks just like this version. This is the version with no manual.




I bought the game new in a store, first hand. It was not sealed, which is normal in that store. There was a sticker on the case tho. See picture below.





I tried all the codes on that sticker (well, its only one, but I tried it in different variations) but none of them worked, which is kinda abvious, since thats the receipt number.

Like said in my earlier posts, I bought this game while I was on holiday. I dont feel like driving 500 km back for a game which cost me 6€, so I guess I'm just gonna buy a version somewhere else.
