Exclamation Promotional Deals and Offers
Post whatever Promotional Discounted software deal here (no games please)
Freeware would be better suited elsewhere, unless you are comparing to a promo item.

Download at your own risk, it's always a good idea to check out somebody elses recommendation before installing it.

Today, for another 10 hours, is a decent DVD/BluRay ripper.

http://www.microsoft.com/student/off...s/default.aspx

Microsoft offers Windows 7 professional to students (anyone with a .edu email) for $29.95

and you can get both the 32bit and 64bit versions as seperate "Clean" install disks in .iso as a download. You also get the key.

an additional $13 each for the disks by mail.

I just purchased both, came to about $86 with the pretty holograph disks by mail.

Also available for students is MS Office 2010 for $79.95, and MS Office 2007 for $59.95 with a valid .edu email.

If you are taking computer studies at your school, see if your school is enrolled with elms, it has many MS programs for free, including all the operating systems. I have a couple dozen free disks from our elms site including full install disks for all the operating systems exept 9x
They even have MS-DOS 6.22

It's MSDNAA, if they are with that. Usually applies to IT and related fields, depends on the deal the school has.

Grab Process Lasso while it's free today, It's a nice process manager that shows you what's running and allows you to prioritize processes (not just kill them).

I use it. They gave it away a few months ago too. I remember stting a few priorities to a lower setting for gaming.
Might have helped a bit. I dunno.

Today only WinX DVD Ripper Platinum 6.0 is free. I've been using the previous version for about six months now. It's a decent ripping program.

I was reading an article about the surplus on TVs this black friday -

I've already seen low online prices for 1080 32 inch TVs at about $300-$370, like on newegg, the article said there will be black friday deals for about $250

Thanks, I had the last version too - for the decrypt I have better luck with dvdfab (which only has a short free trial), but this is a great program for converting, and it's easy yo use

Process Lasso 4.0
A process priority manager that doesn't just kill processes, it helps you balance them - great for gaming, great for laptops

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/process-lasso-4-0/

Key features:
•Process Watchdog
•Automated Process Control
•Instance Count Limit
•Multi-Core Optimization
•Power Scheme Automation
•System Responsiveness Metric
•No System Registry Values Changed

This one's back (see my September post) today only - and it's got some minor new features - it's actually worked really well for me.

Make sure you read the links - there is one to download regular and one for 64bit. Don't mistakenly go after the banner ads.

Well, the last day of this deal is tomorrow, and I'm glad I did this a week or two ago. For those that have purchased Photoshop Elements 9 through Amazon.com over the past few months, you are entitled to a $400 coupon off of Photoshop CS5 (CS5 Standard, NOT Extended), which was well worth it:

Bah rats, I lost the link to that offer, but I did take advantage of it, and the cost of Photoshop CS5 came to around $260, with the free super saver shipping, which was a huge discount for a premiere title like that.

Brink and Mafia II are free after rebate at NewEgg until 2/27 or while supplies last. I think I'll grab Mafia II just so I can drive the cars around. I was the big Beth fanboy about Brink, then the Brink demo was painful... think I'll skip on that one.

Twisted Brush Pro free Today!

Twisted Brush is probably the most advanced paint brush program out there. It's not much in the way of processing vectors or publishing tools - it's a drawing/painting program that you should definitely have if you use a drawing tablet. I have a large Wacom tablet and this program is amazing.
