[Help] Shadow Warrior -- overview?
Well,

I've browsed this forum and found some infos about the source code and the retexturing progress.

But what I couldn't find is an overview for the gamers out there about what already can be used.

Im no programmer only a gamer and I really like to play SW again.
Since dosbox can't handle the game very well I'm looking for an alternative e.g TC with the source code or similar stuff.

Anyway,

Can someone post what is already playable and where to get the stuff?

Thanks.

I have also put together a starter kit for those interested.

http://www.proasm.com/files/PlayWangSetup21.zip - 38 megs

This comes with a self installer, sets you up with all files and folders to get you going.
It offers the following.

1. The 31st May JonoF SW port
2. Version 2.0 of Swp.exe
3. Playwang - Version 2.1 Launcher
4. 3 Total Conversions / Addons (Taiwang, Lonukem, Rampage Warrior)
5. 40 odd User maps (20 SP and 20 WB)
6. Hitmans version 1.3 of the Hrp (High Resolution Pack)
7. The Shareware version of Shadow Warrior (All you need is the retail Sw.grp file)

Please read the documentation in the Help folder.

Ok, thanks for all the info.

I tested the zip file you posted above and it works fine.
Even the CD music plays.

The first thing I noticed was that everything is filtered through Open GL or something.

Is it somehow possible to restore the original pixelated sprites and level graphic with all their beauty?

[EDIT]

I think I found the problem.

I used 32 bpp instead of 8 bpp and then the game looks really ugly.

Many thanks to all people who worked and still work on this project.

Ok, I have to get back to SW now.

rename the highres folder (temporarily) to make all textures revert to normal.

Hey, excellent work ProAsm! I've wanted to try out your SWP and launcher and the highres pack for a while now, but haven't gotten around to it, this makes it simple

Re: [Help] Shadow Warrior -- overview?
BTW.

I've done a little sound tweak to the Chaingunlike Shotgun from Shadow Warrior.

I just increased the volume because I found it way to quiet.

You can get the soundfile here

To open the Group file of SW (sw.grp) where you have to exchange the SHOTGUN.voc (delete old one / insert new one / save) you need a tool. The best one is Group File Studio which you can get here

If you know the TC <font color="red"> The Last Warrior </font> you maybe also know that the sound of the replaced shotgun weapon sounds broken. Just replace it with the one above.
The creators used the same filename so you only have to exchange the SHOTGUN.voc.
