A feasible idea perhaps?
Hey, I'm kind of new to the forum, but I just had an idea. I know, I know, the development is in question, and there has been lots of problems lately, but this thing could be feasible in my opinion.
Everyone remembers the trailers, right? From 1998 and 2001, the game seemed to be playable to a high extent. Do you think that all that material is scrapped now? Did they actually do a shift+delete with all the previous material? If not, this could be fun. Why not include them in DNF? Imagine, say, a level in which Duke is hit with this reality altering gun by an alien, and he has to continue his journey using the Quake 2 engine for some time. Or at one point, Duke needs to find a computer with important data, but the last person used it was playing DNF 2001, and Duke has to "finish" a level. Not only would we actually play those iterations from the past, but it could add a nice touch to the game and lengthen the gameplay. And I have to add that, there is approximately 0 other FPS (or game, for that matter) in which I could imagine this kind of thing! I'm no programmer at all, but why not? Of course, only if those versions are not scrapped completely...anyway, sorry if someone else posted this before! |

Re: A feasible idea perhaps?
No, I mean there's been oodles of threads about releasing all or parts of those versions of DNF.
Long story short - no. |

Re: A feasible idea perhaps?
Idea is good man. But hoestly no need for new ideas now. Let that damn game actually hit the shelves with its present ideas and I will be damn happy.

Re: A feasible idea perhaps?
lol wtf would you do that?
lmao that's like playing some fast ass racing game and then it turns into some atari racing game, sounds lame no offense i think it'd be cool if they redid duke nukem 3d with the duke nukem forever engine but then again maybe it wouldn't, everything has it's originality you know? I heard they remade doom 1 for the doom 3 engine and that it sucked big time, the graphics were disarrayed, the weapons were different, sizes were mismatched, didn't have the same theme or feeling if you could do it, that'd be incredible, but if not, that'd suck anyway alright |
