Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I read this post yesterday and the same night I dreamt about it.
In the dream, my dad enters the house with a CPU and tells me to test the final version of DNF, I don't remember much of the game though, but the funny thing was why the hell he brings the game in an entire CPU and not 1-2 DVDs, I supose it's due to the power DNF needs |

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
In my last DNF dream (dreaming of games is so damn weird ) the game looked pretty fun. It was some kind of a desert level and there were a lot of ufos on the ground. You could enter each of them and use all the control panels to do funny stuff. I also remember some sort of a destroyed hotel but it seemed out of context. Anyways, it's hard to describe but it was a cool dream.

DNF is the kind of game were you dream about it installing, and when it hits 100 per cent you wake up. On a school day.

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Arr, I had another one. In my latest, I was visiting the 3DRealms office during some tour. Some of the guys working on DNF started showing stuff from an alien ship--the graphics were way too bright and oversaturated. One other thing I remember was being able to pick up trashcans and toss them at enemies like in River City Ransom. Then suddenly, George cut the power to the building so that nobody would be able to see anything else. I asked him when I'd get to see it again and he told me to wait four months; then, I realized it was a dream, because George never gives out straight answers like that. Or who knows, maybe in my subconscious George was actually planning on waiting four months and then saying "You'll see it when it's ready."

Trivia: My PM inbox is not a synonymous of "here". Quote:
A huge enemy approached, I think I dreamed of that enemy because of the big monster that is painted on the truck of the E3 2001 video (Duke slides under it with a motorbike). I had to jump on his foot, so I went along with him while standing on his feet He went to the alien base, and it looked like your average Quake 3 Arena map with lunar apocalypse theme. One circle (pentagon, actually), with 2 ways to get to the center, and lots of those bug enemies from E3 1998 were running after me (in a similar style the aliens from Alien versus Predator 2 run over walls and stuff). If we're any locuky, the post where I desribed the dream in more detail will still exist. I doubt we're that lucky. Not that the post still existing would make us lucky or so |

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I had a really weird dream of DNF early this morning.
GeorgeB had invited me to a DNF premier on a boat in the middle of no-where, but when I got there he wouldn't let me in as I hadn't bought any dried fruit with me. So I just sat on a heap of sand a distance away from the boat and waited to see what would happen, and as I did I saw the staff of 3DR (on the boat) forcing other people they'd invited to take part in rope climbing competitions: with the ones who won being allowed to play a bit of DNF. I half remembered the dream when I was getting ready for work, and it left me feeling strangely sad that I'd forgotten the dried fruit. Aren't dreams strange things? |

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I just had a normal dream of that game. Nothing nuts nothing on a boat nothing with Georges Broussard. It was me, in front of some new computer, still with the same mouse and screen, and i was trying that game.
And the game was just meh. It was a normal game, nothing exciting, just some "other game", not a "special game". Yuo fan bois don't blam me for it.

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I remember when I first got my Genesis and played Sonic the Hedgehog for hours on end... I got sick, my temp was about 39.5 and I was wide awake, but I could see the first level from Sonic II all around me, I was IN the level.
It was awful... I have had dreams about DNF too, but they'l no doubt be in the archives somwhere... I was In the game there, too... Or Duke was in RL, or something...

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I had a dream about DNF about 1 year ago. It was fantastic. It was a very big city with swimming pools, hotels, restaurants, movies. The other side of the city there was a huge beach with a lot of babies...
That's all about I remember

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Something just aint right with that typo...
I was still in elementary when I played Duke3D (aka I had not even hit puberty). I remember, before I had a video camera or anything I use to take my ToyStory (Dont laugh) tape recorder and do little "movies" with my Duke Nukem and Quake 2 action figures. Oi Duke and Meyrl from Metal Gear Solid, oi? I remember when I saw the DNF 2001 video. I think my exact reaction was "Holy Mother F***ing Sh*t! *watches again* Holy. Mother. F***ing SH*T!!!!!", and then I had a dream about whipping out that Golden desert eagle and breaking in a door in DNF.... Mmmm the freeway Harley ride was fun, blasting all the flying saucers and stuff, what a dream... I cannot wait until 3Drealms gives us all our dream come true. Well actually, I can wait. I can wait until WHEN ITS DONE! (I've always wanted to say that...)

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I've sort of dreamt about DNF. I dreamt that I was in some kind of desert and had to "take the donkey" to get out of there . Since I couldn't find one, I suddenly started swinging my hands around to try and "open my inventory" (damn role playing games ) looking for a "teleportation scroll".

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Hehe, I never got to open my inventory and woke up. I've had a few inventorydreams before aswell, like running through a forest and suddenly starting to move my non existant third hand to apparently loot a tree.
(and no, I didn't find anything there ) Couldn't stop laughing when I finally woke up

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I had a funny dream with a strange idea. I was in some place and the game wrote a floppy that I could use to access a secret level (At the game start I would have to put the floppy in) felt kind of like a easter egg or something. Afterwards it felt like a great idea to include but too bad that most modern computers do not have a floppy drive . Something "real" in the game would be fun, such as the game printing a piece of paper ingame and it actually prints from your printer! It could be a code/puzzle/easter egg/Something informative about the situation/some other guy's story.
