Enemies in Prey
First of all, hi you all!
I'm a Spanish Medicine student looking forward to the Prey game hitting the stores.
I'd like to ask you, for the screenshots, demos, etc., which enemies have already been shown for this game? I think they have been a good bunch already.
Thank you a lot

Welcome to the forums, Falcon. Of all the screenshots and videos, the really long E3 video is, in my opinion, the best (mostly because it's the longest and shows the most). I don't know if there's a dedicated screenshot section here, but the videos are all available online. gamespot.com is where I got all of mine.

I\'ve seen them all
But however, they go too fast and my screen shows it too bad (and I've got too bad sight )in WM for me to discern any enemy other than the fat zombie-like one. For that comes the question.
Thank you!

Anyway, if you can't see it in the videos, how will he play the game then?

Please... could you elaborate the list again? Thank you a lot I'm really interested in this.
The problem isn't with my graphic card, it allows to play most games fairly well, but rather with the WMP.
Thank you!

Seems like the forums are alright now so here i go:
---
- The "normal" assult trooper-like enemies (most common enemies i think) [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_04xx.jpg

- The Centurion (Alien with 2 heavy machinegun-like weapons on the arms) [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_02xx.jpg

- Some flying big Alien, with lot's of little eyes, and tentacles [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_01xx.jpg

- Enemy shuttles (alike the one the player can control) [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_20xx.jpg

- Zombies..?! (Sorry, no pic for this one... It's from the X360 Trailer, there was some headless dude was running after the player... A zombie i guess)

- Human+Aliens experiments (like the fat guy with an alien mouth as a right arm) [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_21xx.jpg

- Big floating alien, with long arms, and a small upper body [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_12xx.jpg

- Big Alien, with mechanical "spider-legs" [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_13xx.jpg

- "Spores" from the living ship... (protector drone-like creatures) [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_06xx.jpg

- Possesed humans [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_10xx.jpg

- Wraiths (Ghosts, that appear in Deathwalk mode, and some places in the regular levels) [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_17xx.jpg

- Other alien creatures, which seem to have no eyes [Pic >] http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_03xx.jpg
---
All pics are from Prey's official website: http://prey.com/flash.html
I hope you are happy with the results... I put some more effort to make this than before... This time i provided pics with the description...

[EDIT:]
- There will also be bosses, but no one of those have been revealed yet, nor said how many there will be

- And last but CERTAINLY not least, the whole Dyson Sphere itself, since it's an intelligent lifeform, and knows that you're there (hence the reason it can "create" the above mentioned "Spores" to attack you)...

Thank you a lot!
Of course, I'm very happy with your post.
About the zombies, they come in headless and non-headless form it seems from the XBOX trailer, and the children have too some spiritual form.
Thanks!
I think there will still be some new not discovered enemy.
I specially life the fattie one and the "spores"... by the way, how do you know they are spores?
Cheers

I think it was mentioed in either one of the weekly updates, or in one of the countless previews about Prey...

Anyways, it can also be seen in the E3 video, in the beginning... Right after tommy gets up from an elevator, and after the airplane crashing out of the portal, a portal opens... Right beyond tat portal, some kind of eggs pop out of the walls, and become these creatures...

Re: I\'ve seen them all
Enemies situation:
AFter watching the videos, I think I'm going to make some guess about the present enemies.
The common ones are certainly regular troops, with centurions and perhaps the 4 legged one being some kind of more powerful, but regular troops. The 4 legged one could be too one of those "scientifics" wikipedia says. The spores you have told what do they are, the fatty ones, the zombies and the children are experiments with humans, and the zombies will act like workers I think, having no weapons.
The eyeless beast seems to be something similar to the spores... perhaps from a special part of the game, and that strange guy with very long arms may be a scientific too, or perhaps a boss. These ones do appear only in one screenshot each.
There seems there are going to be a good bunch of enemies in Prey, most likely 15+ or 20+, since I think a few of them won't have been revealed.
Each enemy seems to fill certain "role" inside the game, without any of them filling no clear role like in Doom3 or Quake4.

Those strange guys with the long arms are supposedly called "keepers". I've read somewhere that keepers are Tommy's allies. See attachment.

I really hope we haven't seen all the enemies yet, I would be a little let down if the only enemies we haven't seen are bosses.

I like little surprises and such.

Yes, I was very disappointed with Half-Life 2. Not only had I seen all environments except the citadel, I knew how all enemies looked, and even how they behaved.
I don't think 3DR and HH intend to spoil Prey as much as HL2, though.

Oh yeah, i remember that dude...
I hope all the enemies we've seen will stay... Take the guy in that screenshot you posted as an example... This is the only screenshot of him... We've not seen a single "in game" screenshot yet... So they might have cut him out...

I believe (and hope) not though...

Yeah... with the keeper and the ones you call eyeless (but seem more fly-eyes), only shown in one screenshot, but hope they get into the game. Centurions, fatties, spores, shooters and the zombies appear for granted. Let's see with the other.
It's clear some enemy has to be new, I think. This is the 1st game I follow before release... but for your experience, do you know if they use to hold back enemies before the game release?

The PC Gamer exclusive had an in game screen of that guy, it was the first page of the article.

June 2005, Issue number 137.

I can't find the screen online, but he is ingame.

EDIT: Just found this, it's half of the pic... but it should do.

As mentioned before with Half Life 2, some companies do. Valve was neurotic about making sure the game flow was as perfect as they could get it and, in my opinion, threw away a lot of good models/enemies. Laments about missing the Hydra are rampant on HL2 forums. I don't know if this outfit is prone to this sort of "triage", but I hope not.

...there's also a shot (in the video with the headless guys) of a dog (?) being walked on a leash (?).

Agreed.

But I think HH should have a lot of surprises not just with enemies, but with tripped out level design and strange puzzles. I'm sure HH wouldn't be foolish enough to show us everything about Prey before it's release.

The full screenshot is right here...

http://www.3drealms.com/prey/images/...reyshot009.jpg

And there's also this guy here. Which I'm pretty sure we haven't seen in any screenshots yet, just in concept art. Most likely a zombie creature...

[edit]:
Also... here's one more...

This one seems more like an ally/npc then an anemy though... could also be a multi-player character.

Nice, i totally forgot the screenshots from the magazines...

Anyways, that pic from PCGamer is from an early build, which can clearly be seen at Tommy's health bar... Every old screenshot (some of the first that were released) had a blue Talon bar besides the health bar... While on newer screenshots, there is a blue spirit bar instead...
However, i don't think they cutted that guy out... I mean, he looks cool, and he's fully modelled... Would be a damn shame to not include him...

The ugly zombie guy on that concept art is for certain a MultiPrey Character, as he can be seen on this screenshot, together with Tommy's grandfather:
http://prey.com/images/preyscreen_19xx.jpg
Doesn't mean we won't see him in Singleplayer though...

That last pic from Kev_Hectic, has the normal trooper alien... It can clearly be recognized on the "helmet"...
He just looks more different because of that "spirit Walk effect"... Here's a comparison... look at the helmet, which is the same as on your pic...

Anyways, at Least there's a good pic of Talon on that pic, and he's an Ally for sure...

The dog-like creatures are called hounds. And the spider-like creatures, eye-less ones, are called harvesters.

Good eyes Mick, the spirt effect reallty does make the trooper model look like a different creature. And yeah, that is the same zombie creature from the concept art. My guess is there'll probably be a small variety of zombie like creatures that appear to look human in the game.

And, if there are zombies, they should be disturbing, with cables stuck through the brain, and steel bolts all around. Ugly enough to blow up. Those in HL2 were way to regular for my taste.

Good monsters should make me go "WTF?", not, "Oh yeah, a zombie..." They should not look like zombies. I think its fair to say they are overused into the extreme.

Stuff should really be un-expected. So me, I don't need any more screens now. Showing any more Bosses or Uber bastards should be strictly Verboten. Don't go overboard with the teasing, Human Heads. I've seen enough to buy it 10 times already. Great work so far. Now get it out.
