Cool Duke Nukem 3d Xbox Font
I was wondering if anybody knew what this font was. If 3DR created it custom, or if it's a font readily available. I ask because I was hoping to try and emulate it for a project im working on.

This is the font in question. It almost looks like the original font from Duke3D, just recolored Gold and Grey.

If anybody knows what the font is called i'd be much obliged.

On my machine, I call it "DukeFont", but it does have a real name. I forget offhand what it is. It was a publicly available one, but I forget offhand what the name is. I'll ask the guy who did the font work.

It does not look like a recolor of the PC font. It does look cool, nevertheless! What about the replacement for the blue font?

From what I can tell the game has unified fonts, and just has them colored differently. (The copyright font at the begining of the game is the same as the menu, only white and smaller)

I can't find it anywhere, just gonna have to wait for a name now. It's ridiculous, I'll think I've found it, only for it to be not quite the same at all.

It almost has the features of this:
http://www.dafont.com/kimberley.font

But not quite.

Hey Joe, you ever get around to asking that guy what the font is called? Not trying to bug or anything. Just wondering if you might've forgotten.

Nope. I got no name, and the thread Joe posted over at the What The Font forum was basically ignored. Its going to end up being one of life's big mysterys I think.

what if Joe just posted a copy of it from his machine? it's as easy as copying it from the font section of the control panel. also, if you double-click the font in the control panel, it will show a sample of the font, with it's true name.

He can't legally hand the font over, its part of a commercial font pack. However I think i'll PM him about that last bit.

Well, yeah. If you buy it. It's a commercial font.

When I originally got it, I seem to recall it being a bunch of gibberish (like 412346sxdf.pdf) and I renamed it to dukefont.pdf, so I could know what it was. It may not have a "real" name as such. I honestly don't remember now.

as i said, all you have to do is double-click the font in your control panel, and it will tell you the original name.

that's really weird, cuz the name that shows up ont he sample page should show the original name, which is permananetly encoded and unchangable. it'll also show the copyright info for the company who created it as well.

I now believe I have found the font. I'm checking with our art guy here first to make sure I found the right thing. I'll tell you what I found when I get verification. I want to make sure I found the right thing before I say something publicly.

If this is the same font, it is a freely available font, you don't appear to have to pay for it.

More to come when I get the info (in other words, don't nag me about it).

http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Daidoh.htm

That's what I found. When I asked the art guy here, he wasn't 100% sure, but said this.. "I think its daidoh extended or something."

Given this is a freely available font, I'll provide the link. Apparently I was wrong about the "it's a commerical font - buy it", as it seems to be all over the place, now that I know the name of it.
