It looks to me like a scanned image. But at least it is in color and there is no fold in the middle of the book (except I made 2 scans)

The original black and white image is superior to the colored one. The colored one crops out some stuff on the sides, and it blots out a lot of the shell casings in the pile. Also, it adds smeary ghost shell casings in the air and makes everything look too red. Too bad the original is missing that section in the middle.

Yes,
I can scan at once (without the absence in the middle), but I do not want to damaging my game notice.
I'll try to find a way to scan the image 1 once.

If Joe has the original image, it will be nice for us to scan it. ^^

That would be great if you could scan it without the missing part, and then post it at a much higher resolution than before.

By the way, I think I just figured out why the colorist changed most of the pile to black. Because it would have been too much work to individually color all of those shell casings.

I'm interested in using this pic for my Attrition mod, so I'm enlisting my wife to remove the white line. I will post the corrected version when it's done. I'm not sure when that will be, since she's busy with other stuff, but probably in the next few days.

I tried to do some stuff to it... It doesnt match the one with colour 100% but if you guys hate B&W, this might do for now. Although IMO, I like this one more because I hate Bloom like that one above has.

Well now when i think about it, yes the "kick" attack does have blue jeans but the menu background shows black (or very very very dark blue) so im not sure :s. I think imo that duke fits more in darker colors rather then light (look at the attachment and you´ll see).

used Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, mainly cos i didn't have photoshop on my laptop. But pretty much any semi advanced image editing software should be able to do something similar, like Gimp for instance which is free.
Took around one and a half hours. What you basically do is you start cutting out pieces from the original black and white layer with the lasso tool and form new layers out of them, then you add color to them using colorize or whatever method you feel is appropriate, then you use the curves tool to change the brightness/contrast/gamma etc, and use various blend methods on those layers to form the final image. It's a pretty simple procedure to be honest but requires patience and precision and some artistic skill.
