Joe, could you please try to check the original modify dates of the exe files for the Bio Menace version that you released as freeware? The modify dates in the freeware release have been changed, and they might be a way of knowing if the files you released were created later or earlier than the exe files in the registered version here. Thanks!

The last time I checked, in March 2007, the version of Stargunner that is released as freeware was version 1.0b. I had to use the patch to get version 1.1a.

Re: Bio Menace Debug Mode
At one time I had a complete list of all Apogee game cheats and hex edit codes.
I had 2 copy's. 1 in a loose leaf notebook and the original download stored on the 2nd hard drive in my desktop pc computer. The notebook got lost in a move and I lost my desktop computer along with a lot of other stuff when the payements fell behind on a storage unit.
For the registered verson of Bio Menace there is a code to be entered after you type C+O+D in the game. then do the J+I+M+space bar to get the f10 + letter cheats to work. I just can't rember the code and without that notebook I am dead in the water sort of speaks. Also there is a god mode cheat for Duke Nukem II. I had that code in that notebook that got lost also. This codes I had in that notebook were from back in the days before Windows came out and everyone was running MSDOS 6.0. Yes I am an old computer geek. My very 1st computer was a Timex Sinclair Zx-81.

You mean you can't remember the code that was posted earlier in this very thread? That would never have been in your old files as it only works with the freeware registered version, which didn't come out until a few years ago.

Re: Bio Menace Debug Mode
I had a registered verson of Bio Menace with all 3 epasodes were typing the C+O+D then the box comes up, type in the 91827 enter, then J+I+M+ spacebar and it would say something like debug mode active. I recently lost my desktop computer to a lighting strike on the power lines. The registered verson I found online lets me get up to J+I+M+spacebar then does nothing. The game still runs but the F10 + letters don't fuction. C+A+T fuctions fine. I maby have a copy of the verson that was on my hard drive on cd. I have a habit of backing up to cd/dvd that I want to keep. I just can't get at the box with all my cd/dvd's in it right now, thay are in storage. Were I am living right now there is no room for them.

The official reports are that the cheats were removed from the registered version before release, so there never would have been any cheats in your old registered version, unless you somehow got hold of a private version that was never made public. Or, unless you had a trainer that added the cheats back in again.

When the registered version was released as freeware, the version that they released was the first one that had the F10 cheats enabled. You can get this version from the downloads page.

Re: Bio Menace Debug Mode
I've searched for unknown cheats in the registered version of Duke Nukem II a couple of times in the past few years. There's code in it for god mode, warp to a different level, a weapon selection screen and a difficulty selection screen, but I don't think there's a way to execute that code without modifying the executable.
I've managed to alter the executable in a quick and dirty way such that when you press G + O + D you don't get the funny message, but one of these four cheats instead. Although I couldn't get the warp cheat and the difficulty selection cheat working and all but the god cheat mess up the colors in the game.

There's a Trainer Module for Duke Nukem II v1.0 shareware version that modifies the executable and NUKEM2.CMP and it adds god mode (F10 + G), warp (F10 + W), default/rocket weapon toggle (F10 + O) and rapid fire & jetpack mode while shooting downwards (F10 + R).

Reble, did your god mode cheat work in the shareware version of Duke Nukem II or in the registered version?

Very interesting! I think I've seen that cheat file while browsing cd.textfiles.com. BTW, I understand that you generally catalogue such unofficial extras on your site alongside the built-in cheats? Not long ago I've ploughed through cd.textfiles.com and found quite a few interesting unofficial Dune II extras (some of which are actually quite workable modding tools).
