I used frames from hrp textures also.
But you should make those frames orange colored, like original.
About animation - maybe it is possible to make sphere turning?
And add upon it rocket blasts from outer space instead of original moving green dots?

I don't think that's a good idea - I think the front sphere represents the moon and the glowing, moving dots mark the landing coordinates like on an airport...

about the turning: I thought about that too, but it would turn WAY to fast (it would turn 360° in about 4 seconds - the moon turns 360° in one month ^^)

Here is some new stuff!!



Most of them are not used ingame but I tought that it could be interesting to make them Hi res anyway!

And here is one of the first texture I made.
It was looking bad ingame so I did some fixing!

they are used in the 4th episode IIRC, and i`ve used them in a few of my maps so its a good thing to see them high res now and they look good

The problem with #58 and #606 is that originally those are "stored" space suits, which mean they're hanging on something like in a closet or something, i dont know if you get my point.... your pictures look like if the guy is floating in outer space already, maybe if you use a standing spacesuit instead of a floating one?.


The switch looks good for a start but i think it needs a little bit more detail and you could make it look a little bit rusted or something like that, it looks too colorful and "Happy" IMO. And i would scrap and redo that "snot" thingy in the "open" version of the switch and the green spotlight in the middle shouldn't be so shinny IMO.

you mean i should choose a suit were both feets are look like they are standing on the bottom?

But if you see the original 606 it has only one foot:

so i didnīt think it is able to "stand". But I am searching for a better texture for that (and i am thinking about to make the 606 dirtier than the current one). Do somebody know in which level i can see the suits or can make a Screenshot of it, so i can see how it looks in the Game.

that switch model and the space suit for that matter have potential for hig poly count, especially the suit. the switch would be hard because of the whole rotating seperate triangles for the shutters, i think that can be donw but it would be hard
other than that i like the textures, the switch does need to be dirtier though,more grimmy

We could save alote of time and trouble if we just model the switch frame and then make a "two times rotating texture" for the triangles for the shutters. We could also use the work that Impact done on his "flat texture" just need to add some dirt and that's all.

I think we really dont need to model every single triangles!!

It looks way much better now, i can see you took my advice wisely, but you forgot about that "snot" thing , maybe if you delete the left part of it and leave the middle part?.

Im not to sure how the original looks(No duke installed ), but the black lines on the switches really stand out. Other than that it looks fantastic!

Well... It looks pretty nice, but comparing with the original, I think that:

1. It should be octagonal, with the vertical and horizontal parts of the metal ring thicker than the diagonal ones.

2. The color of the metal parts should be darker, more like dark-gray than this.

3. I think that the closed state new version's meeting point of the triangular parts is a little off to the left and up. It should be at the center.

4. The triangular parts should be green and different in shape - I mean more 'life-like', and differently shaded (especially in the open state.)

5. The opening in the open state should be bigger, such as the green light at the center.

6. There should be more those slimy hanging things and they should look like if they are hanging from the triangular parts, not somewhere inside (they should go lower to the sides).

But, as for a start, it's great. I draw very good but for some strange reason can't do computer graphic at all.

Perhaps you could just upload those two pics somewhere else? When I download these (even with download manager), all I get is 1x1 pixel pngs, worthless.

I'm agree here...
Duke 3d is runing out sinse almost 10 years...
there is alot of usermap outthere witch means that
our first priority is to finish the ingame used tiles but then We have the duty to finish the work by respect for all those mapers over the world who spent alot of time to make some great maps.

We then eventualy should extand our work to remake the 3 officials add-on: Duke it out in DC, Carebean and Nuc Winter...

By the way, count me in to finish work!
