Wow. 200.00.... I might have to go ahead and list my unopened, signed by the last 3DR employee E3 Video with certificate of authentication.

It might look fancy in your "Duke" collection, but other then that, it's worthless.
Keep in mind it was touched by people who either worked for 3D Realms, or saw people who work for 3D Realms... that carries some weight. <grin>

I have sold dozens (maybe a couple hundred?) games over the years since about the time Duke 3D came out. I traded a good bit too, so I don't know how many really. But I can tell you this from experience... these high dollar amounts are most of the time brought about by two conditions...

1. A genuine desire to have a perfect or near perfect item... generally for the purpose of the sense of having something old, or rare, that is "new" as it would have been. Untainted, untouched, virgin… priceless.

2. A genuine desire to be able to say "I got one and you don't." Which sadly seems to be the most common... as I have sold or brokered items bringing some of the highest prices I have ever heard of.

I am certain there could be other reasons, but these are the most common motivations I witnessed for extreme prices.

Its only worth what people will pay for it.

To find out, put it on ebay with a reserve of like $10,000 so it wont sell and just see how high the bidding goes

I understand the nostalgia behind the item, but 200 dollars or more just seems... absurd. You're paying the money basically for the case. The trailers on the disc itself are available all over the net.
