286 for those classics
I brought a 286 yesterday, just to play the apogee classics such as commander keen, crystal caves, secret agent, monsterbash etc.
And it suits the atmosphere brilliantly. Thankyou Apogee for make such good games. |

Re: 286 for those classics
You bought one?
I've found 486's in skips let alone 286's.

Re: 286 for those classics
My 386 was great, it NEVER crashed (Thank you DOS!)
I used to play Duke Nukem II and Raptor (Which I both still have!)

Re: 286 for those classics
I have a 486, it's pretty good but I still need to use MoSlo for some games.

Re: 286 for those classics
My 486 still sees more time than the PC I'm on now. I realised when reading this thread that I've had the thing for eight years. It's got a complete collection of Keens on it and it's what I play Death Rally and Starcraft on.

Re: 286 for those classics
It's actually the installation that takes a while. Once you have it on the thing, it actually runs okay. Computer tech friend of mine lent me a copy as a joke (he was convinced it wouldn't work). Proved him wrong - it was fun.
