Any ladder dukers around from "back then"??

Just wondering, if there there are any long time online deathmatch dukers around here who are waiting till wednesday. I remember "back in the old days when so many people used to play pc duke online on heat, ten and kali. Back then I spent like tons of hours laddering people from all over the world. Now I am just wondering if I will see some old friends again. Did anyone reading through this forum used to play on any of those servers?

Yeah, I used to play on HEAT all the time way back when. I think I still have an ancient HEAT t-shirt I got for something or other too. Was on Case's Ladder too, but I don't remember what the best rank I obtained was or even what the name I used was.

As for TEN... no way. Not if I wanted a huge phone bill at the time.

I tried to play on MSN gaming zone about 1997~1998 I believe. Though I quickly grew bored as they all wanted to play one created map that was just stupid. I grew bored with it quick.

what's worse is, it wasn't just one or two people, it was the entirety of who played there. Needless to say, my favorite multiplayer experiences with Duke 3D were the handful of games I played with friends.

It's like that with a lot of PC games online, for which I don't play a lot because of it. Join a server ... download modded crap to play. Join a server... download modded crap to play and so on.

Also, when all the mods and crap are finished downloading, the server already changed maps/mods.
