A hypothetical question...What if Mark Wahlberg replaced James McCaffrey?

We know there will be a Max Payne 3. It's happening at an internal Rockstar dev team right now. But what if they replace James McCaffrey's voice to Mark Wahlberg and used his likeness? Would you be pissed? Happy? Indifferent. I'm excited for the movie and all (looks amazing as far as game movies go) but I'm kinda concerned that if the movie's a success they'll add Wahlberg to the games, kinda like what Eidos did with Tomb Raider. They replaced the original Lara Croft with one that more closley resembled Angelina Jolie to try to draw in fans of the movie. James McCaffrey is Max Payne in the games, Wahlberg in the movie. And I hope R* is smart enough to keep them seperate.

James McCafrrey is Max Payne's voice, as long as they don't mess with Max's voice I'm fine... If they want to change the actor (Sam Lake MP1, Timothy Gibbs MP2)..... Well I'm not sure... If they make Mark look older I'm ok.

This won't happen. Rockstar, who are doing the 3rd game, are not involved in the movie at all, and vice versa, Fox and 3D Realms have nothing to do with Rockstar's Max Payne 3.

I personally don't care either way. They already fux0red up once when they replaced Sam Lake with Timothy Gibbs. At this point, they can do whatever they want. They could even have Manuel Uribe Garza play Max Payne for all I care, and I wouldn't be pissed. I'd just laugh at it.

I'd be disappointed. They should do their best to hire McCaffrey if he wants the job. Why should movies always lord over games? Keep some integrity in the game series, even if the movie turns out to be good and Wahlberg does a good job in it.

While I can accept Wahlberg in the movie, I can't accept him in the game. He doesn't have even a similar type of voice and Max was for me always more defined by the voice than the look (although I prefer Timothy Gibbs over Sam Lake as he doesn't look like he really needs some laxative). As I said before, I hate that idea.

Mark Wahlberg as the face of Max Payne probably wouldn't bother me as much if they still cast James McCaffrey as the voice of Max. James IS the voice of Max Payne, any other voice actor is instant fail in my opinion.

You'd have to still use James McCaffrey for the voice otherwise it just isn't a MP game. If his face changed it wouldn't bother me too much.
