Jumpman Lives! Usermade Levels
Very shortly I will be releasing some several hundred Jumpman Userlevels that I made a while ago. These are not just crappy little levels that consist of a mere "bomb, bullet, ledge" format. Rather, almost all of them are commercial quality material (I spent an average of several hours working on each one).

Since there will be so many, I will release them in ten level increments. You should be able to download them at Lon Matero's Apogee page. If anyone else has any user made Jumpman levels, send them to Lon's Website. Hopefully next year I will have a website up called http://www.jumpmanlives.com, which I hope to be the most extensive Jumpman Lives website ever created. Maybe it could be considered the "official" website.

The first level pack will be called "KHAINE01", and will be released in several days. Each level pack will come with a .txt file that describes each level.

As a side note, JSandro has also released some Jumpman levels. In my opinion, they aren't that great, though. You can download them at Lon's Apogee Page.

Second pack is online:
http://www.oakland.edu/~klmatero/apo...n/Khaine02.zip

I've played through a few of these levels, and I must say they are original and challenging. There are a few bugs in the levels, but don't let that discourage anyone to download it.

Re: Jumpman Lives! Usermade Levels
I checked all the levels before zipping them up. There is a way to beat each level, although with some you have to be very careful not to trip or jump in the wrong direction. I figure that if I can't beat one of my own levels, then it isn't worthy of being put on the internet. All of the level packs have been completed by me (often with only one Jumpman left).

The whole point of the level packs is the challenge of trying to complete them without cheating. Although it may take several tries, you will find it quite worth it to finish.

NOTE: In pack #2, level 1 (ON TARGET) there is a certain way to get all the bombs without falling down. If anybody needs any help they can e-mail me. Just as a warning, if you die on level 1, and both the bottom bombs have been deactivated, then there is no way to beat the level. This is why I put it at the beginning. Other than that, there are no real bugs in any of the levels.

Every five days another level pack will be released to keep people interested (if there are any).

...Probably not the response you're looking for, but...

I tried the PC port of Jumpman once, and I thought it sucked ass compared to the original C64 version. Lots of problems with the sound.

We have yet another Jumpman Lives! enthusiast. Looks like a fellow named Shaun has contributed some levels to Lon's Apogee Page. Hopefully he will give me permission to put them on my upcoming Jumpman Lives website. BTW, I will be uploading level pack #05 today...

Re: Jumpman Lives! Usermade Levels
Level Packs #9 and #10 can now be downloaded from Lon Matero's Apogee Page.

Guys, most of these levels are as good as if not even better than the one's you'll find built into the game.

The purpose of my levels were to make Jumpman Lives! live on! I hoped to start a whole new Internet hobby!

These levels are really good. I worked my ass off on them! All Jumpman fans should download these!

I am having a problem with sound. I goes back and forth from Sound Blaster to PC Speaker. Sometimes it will use Sound Blaster then if I die or go to the next level it might use PC Speaker. Was this a bug in the game. This reminds me of another game (not by Apogee) called Megatron. When you first went into the game it would use sound blaster. Then if you beat the level it was start using PC Speaker.

Re: Jumpman Lives! Usermade Levels
Yeah, I have that problem too. It does that on some computers. It works perfectly fine on my school computer, though.

The sound really isn't something to get worked up about - it's the gameplay that counts.

I wonder if I still have Jumpman Lives installed?

I've had Secret Agent installed for about eight years now, I think, but I don't remember the last time I played it.

Re: Jumpman Lives! Usermade Levels
I'm terribly sorry for the delay, it's just that the only computer that can run Jumpman without crashing is currently getting repaired. When it's done, I'll have another Level Pack ready and I'll edit it into this post.

[EDIT]Jumpman Lives Level Pack #17 has just been uploaded. It's only a matter of moments before Lonny puts them up.[/EDIT]

Re: Jumpman Lives! Usermade Levels
I know I'm late on posting which are my favourite levels but here goes....

Swirlee 2, clutter.

I thought lever was very intelligent I just kept getting that "bug" where it doesn't refresh everything so one of the levers stayed, but was still really good.

Wolfenstien 3d (level 10) that ending demo is pretty sweet.

For starwars the action happens to quickly to really see much.

On levelpack #16 level 3 "Choose your path"
it only gives me 1 path no matter which way I go. When i just grab 1 bomb it gives me the other path but then how do I get back down like that. So I don't know if that was intentional or just a mistake?

There is 1 other I like but can't think of the name right now. It just has the 2 lines in the middle up and down, the vine (up) on the right and the purple thing on the left (down). Then the bombs were on the left and right of the 2 vines. That was a challegning level at first.

Really? It works fine on my computer. Try slowing it down with mo'slo or something like that.

quote:
On levelpack #16 level 3 "Choose your path"

Yeah. That was a mistake. The first several times I tried it, it worked fine. Then, when I finally put all the levels together, the editor couldn't tell that Jumpman was picking up the second one (they were overlapped, which can cause problems if you're not careful). Once a level is stored into a .jml file, it can't be edited and extracted without drastic changes. I figured that I'd just leave it like that and have the player be stuck with the hard path than go through all that trouble.

Good news though! The computer is finally fixed, and I'll be able to work on them again once I find out how to load WinZip onto several hard disks.

Also, I am doing extensive work on a 3D rotating "Jumpman" for the last level of one of the packs.
