Commander Keen Bloodsport

Whew, haven't been here in a while

I'm making a new Commander Keen game... go to my website ( http://stevenvi.cjb.net ) and scroll down a bit to see the link. It's a 2-player deathmatch-type game where two Keens battle against each other in split screen (it's not too exciting with just one person.)

Tell me what you think I should add/change/etc. to it.

I think it's totally out of character

Heh heh, don't be confused by the title, it's not at all like it sounds. And I'm changing it a bit so you can play as either Commander Keen or Mortimer McMire. Although the game sounds violent, it isn't at all... I think I need to work on the name.. haha.

Forget how violent it is - the concept of "Deathmatch" is just wrong for Keen.

As I told Steven on another board - I think he should go with a more Laser Tag feel, and lose any references to death and blood in the game.

Lightening up is not the point. I stand by my statement. If there is to be Keen games, deathmatch is so invalid to the world of Keen, it's not funny - it wouldn't really be a Keen game, even a user created one if it had that.

Laser-Tag is a great idea for it. A blood and gore ckeen game has to be made, but laser-tag should definitly be done.

Okay, I uploaded a new version of the game. It isn't in any way playable as 2-player in the state it's in (I took out player 2's screen temporarily.) It's still beta, blah blah, in this version the pogo actually works right, and if the game is too fast or too slow, you can change the speed of the game. I took off the sounds, cause they weren't for that game anyway . Let's see, what else is in it? Oh yeah, a different background... This version is a lot better looking in my opinion. It's now called Commander Keen Laser Tag, the menu will be changed a bit, obviously... http://stevenvi.cjb.net is where the beta can be downloaded from.

I don't think a Commander Keen blood and gore game should be made. Definitely not. There are enough blood-and-gore games around, and what makes Keen a success in my eyes is the humour and light tone. Any new unofficial Keen games should be in that style.
Well, I think "Laser Tag" is a good idea, I'll download the new demo.

There IS a little blood in Keen 3...
I'm sure everyone already knows this.
