Game crashes to desktop - help!

I have installed the game with no problems. When I start playing the game i am able to play the first scene at the house. After I finish it starts to load the next scene but before it finishes it kicks me back to my desktop. I have tried to set my resolution lower than the game resolution. I have downloaded the newest driver for my Voodoo 3 16MB card. I have also installed the patch for MP. Please help me out someone. Thanks
