Prey Demo Almost here!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the Prey demo will be available this coming Thursday. It's a moment that is both exciting for us, as it's a major point in the completion of the game. It's also scary as it's that moment where you always wonder "will they like it?" Anyway, the demo will world premiere at Gamespot on Thursday the 22nd at 12:01AM EST. (That's -5 GMT for those of us not in the US).

Gamespot will have the demo first, so if you want it the fastest, you should check out the Gamespot Prey demo page by clicking on the graphic below.

Now Gamespot won't be the only place to get the demo, but they will be the first, and will be ready immediately upon the game's release Thursday morning. We will have a list of alternate download sites available once the game is out, please check back after the Gamespot premiere for further details.

Fans looking forward to the Xbox 360 demo will also be able to obtain it on the 22nd, but the time it will be posted on the Xbox Live Marketplace is unknown to us at the moment. That's not under our direct control, that is up to Microsoft, but we're told it will be on the 22nd, we're just not sure what time yet.

While you wait these last few hours for the Prey demo, we have a review of the Prey Demo for you to read. The site Firing Squad has posted <a href="http://www.firingsquad.com/games/prey_demo_preview/">a preview of the Prey Demo</a>. Here's a quote from them about their preview:
<blockquote>This article will give you some impressions of the single player demo along with what is contained in the multiplayer portion as well (two deathmatch-team deathmatch levels will also be included). Since everyone else will get to play this demo very soon I will not be giving away everything I saw or did in the demo version, and the screenshots of the demo that accompany this preview only show the first two of the five levels in the demo. The box art is beautiful. The white gives an angelic/capturing feel to it. It'll probably stand out well in a crowd of other games because of the color pallete that's used there.

How long did it take you guys to agree on using that design?

Wow, the logo and art, of not just the box but the website as well, has changed over the times from just plain scary to more of a technological feel. The white box art does not portray any scariness. I wonder if anyone noticed that or can correct me on that.

Other then my babbling, did you reverse the colors from one of your previous images to make the box art?

I don't know the answer to that - I wasn't involved in the box art design.

I'd like to know why 3dr/Humanhead/Take 2 decided upon the final PREY box art with the white background.

I'm definately getting a "religious" slant from that box art. Not that there's anything wrong with that(if it's indeed what they intended). White background, the symbol of Talon looks almost angelic or cross-like, pillowy white clouds, "Prey", Earth's savior-Tommy ie Christ.

It's interesting to say the least....

Agree.

As I said in my post above..it's an interesting choice.

Perhaps they're hinting at the game's themes of a savior, sacrifice, love and
depending on a higher power ie Tommy's ancestry he has ignored until now.

Just guesses...I have no idea what they were trying to do with the boxart. It'd be cool to hear why they went this direction.

This demo looks awesome, the size of it... and all the stuff you can do in it. I know what I'll be doing Thursday after work, and I seriously doubt I'll be coming to the forum for a while Thursday.

I just know with my luck, that i wont have the demo down til earliest friday... the servers will be so slow from everybody downloading demo prey... so you should have a designated PreyDemo server for us members on this forum...
