Floppy installer in XP
First off, sorry if (or that) this is the wrong forum, but it's the closest one I can find.

So with the release of the ROTT source I decided to dig up my old copy of the full game, to do some DC tinkereing. This involved digging up the CD-R I backed up my floppy's to many years ago. Had I been smart I would have backed up a directory with a fresh install but alas, it is not to be.

So I fire up INSTALL.EXE and I get:

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">Runtime Error 200 at 06D1:0091.[/code]</blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">A quick Google on this seems to think that it's related to "fast computers" but a fully thottled MoSlo doesn't do it either.

So is there any alternate way of installing the old DOS floppy version? Or am I screwed until the next run of CD's?

Actually, the installer on the CD version doesn't work either. Your best bet is likely the manual install:

Nope, that only works for the CD version, I've got the floppy. I guess I'd be fine if there were any way of extracting the files from the ROTT12R._* files. They're not individual ZIP files nor parts of one big ZIP file (one board suggested this and at least I can't get it to work).

OK, checked some more threads, tried out CPUKiller and now I'm golden.

Yeah, the only way around the floppy version is to use the slowdown program.

You could of course purchase the new CD when it's available in a few weeks - as it won't have any of those problems and will have a ton of extra goodness on it (check the ROTT for Dreamcast thread - that discussion is in there for some reason).
