Nope on the contrary the rights fell back to 3D Realms. 3D Realms didn't like any of the proposed scrips and since they had approval rights over the scirpt and deal specified that after a ceratin amount time the rights would fall back to 3DR, they did.

thats the mistake they made, they should of taken the rights themselfs so they would of release dnf back then and became a blockbuster hit already.

Rated A for Awesome, includes : babes, bullets and bombs, aliens, robots, mutants, swearing, drugs, alcholhol and hyper compressed awesomeness in the form of Duke Nukm.

Btw I think R. I think R because Duke is ADULT. Not teenage crap. Even AvP with its uncut footage still wasn't on par with the other movies in that franchise (Alien or Predator.). If the game is rated M then that should translate to a U.S. R rating. Whatever is in the game should be in the movie as far as story content, and action/violence/adult content.

Otherwise its not the same experience.

No, no, no. Not at all. It would be a crapfest kiddie movie it was PG-13. That dictates the kind of content in any just about any sequence.

Theres a reason Duke was entitled "The King of Hardcore action." The reason AvP got away with it is because the blood was decidedly alien(greens and yellows instead of red.) you will note that only a small amount of human blood is shown, even in the "uncut" version on dvd they don't show much blood.

Cut to Duke Nukem 3D. You have aliens exploding in red-shitty piles of mess, intestines exploding out of stomaches, eyes being kicked out heads, aliens behind shrunk and smashed into the ground leaving a bloody yuckiness. Besides there swear factor in Duke has always been moderate. and on top of that... The Chicks man. The CHICKS are gonna push it up just for their very high suggestive nature.

Of course hollywood will side with you Godblitzor. Im thankful 3DR has enough senses just to not let any industry group handle the movie yet (or rather, had not.)

I want it to be gory, but not to the Doom 64 limits (quivering guts). I just want Duke to shoot a pigcop in the head and blood to spray everywhere. And, of course, some gore to the side, but not piles and piles of guts.

I dont want duke to be hollywood, Im just saying pg-13 is reasonable. Sure, I'd be happy with it pretty much either way long as it had somewhat likeness to duke. Either way, 3DR wont ever let the movie be a shitfest.

I say we take 10,000 monkeys and put them in front of computer screens and some time between now and when DNF if released we will have a perfect script. Atleast in theory that should work, statistically that many monkeys working for long enough, up in the 1000's of years, should be able to put together a masterpeice.
