Looks awesome, It looks like it runs extremely smooth.. but make sure HH puts a FPS cap on the 360 version anyway. Quake 4 on the 360 is getting slammed because the framerate speeds up and then (very painfully) down through the course of play.

I don't hink it would fit for the games concept...
The game is supposed to be emotional and deep in story.. But with in-game music, it'll feel more like an adrenaline pumping action-trip... (not like if this would be a bad thing, i just don't think it would fit to Prey's concept as i said..!)

the trailer itself was decent, not very good because it's just a few one second sequences pasted after each other... I like the previous trailer MUCH better.
but what the trailer showed is very cool though, I especially like the part where there is flesh spouting out of the wall

it doesn't have to be adrenaline pumping music anyway... take a look at return to castle wolfenstein, the music is just excellent there, and the game wouldn't even have half its current atmosphere without music!
the whole "the player is immersed because he only hears what's around him" simply is wrong.
even Doom 3 has music, it affects you and you don't notice it! that's proper implementation of music. and even if you notice it like in return to castle wolfenstein... it still affects you

Everything I've seen to date from Prey looked great, except this trailer. It was awful. Didn't show anything that was "never seen before" that really left an impact. Don't get me wrong, I'm still waiting for this game, this trailer was just done badly. Flashing black screens work only on certain occasions, they didn't help here at all. Most of the trailer was flashing screens and didn’t get a solid scene going at all. Bad composition and short; It didn’t show anything for the viewer to be excited about unless you run it frame by frame, and screenshots can do that. You could hardly understand what’s going on unless you’ve seen previous screens and trailers. This is a problem with may trailers, though. As far as I know, the game looks like it’s going to be a blast, this trailer, however, didn't do it justice at all. To bad.

yes, that's what I meant with "it's just one second sequences pasted after each other"
but to be fair, HH probably got a limited amount of time from G4 and they had to do it within that time span.
I'm not sure, that's just my assumption

After watching the trailer on my computer, I still cannot share in the unbridled enthusiasm that many here are expressing. If I knew nothing of Prey (which is true of the majority), I don't see "the big sell" that makes me want to know Prey. Moreover, as someone who IS familiar with Prey, I don't see much new to get excited about.

The details are difficult to appreciate at that pace. All of the environments are incredibly similar. No big set pieces are shown. There are a dozen shots of enemies coming right at you. There are some interesting elements, <table><tr><th><font size="-1">Spoiler below:</font></th></tr><tr><td class="spoiler">Enemies using flashlights is cool</td></tr></table> but are they enough to distinguish this game from the pack of upcoming titles?

I'm not speaking to the quality of the game. The E3 trailer was an excellent introduction to the what's and why's of the game, with compelling gameplay footage to boot.

The teaser is polished and professional. But the developers are professionals, so I shouldn't expect anything less.

Yes, silent and 'dynamic' music would be fine...
But i was refering to the same kind of music like in that trailer...
If this kind of music had to be in-game, it should be dynamic imo...

No but you can't tell from that trailer that Prey does either and I think thats what he means. All the info you get if you watch it just once and know nothing about Prey all you can tell ater watching it is that it is an fps in sci-fi enviorment.

Enthusiasm towards the G4 trailer.

What you're describing is the "compelling gameplay footage".

Re: Xbox 360 Prey Trailer out Monday on G4
My point is (and Parkar and Firefly clarified), the video does not do a good job of highlighting Prey's unique gameplay features. The clips of portal navigation are so quick that I'm not sure the uninitiated gamer would understand what's happening. There's almost zero footage of the gravity elements and "impossible geometry". And I can't think of a single instance of puzzle-solving. That, and the fact that the story is supposed to be important, there's not a bit of narration or text that explains the game.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to paint a bleak picture. We know this game has the potential to special; I just don't think this teaser communicated that potential. So this opportunity may not have been capitalized on, but there will be other opportunities.
